O Dell XPS 12 9250 é um fino conversível de 12,5-polegadas. O processador Intel Core m7 6Y75 instalado, tem suficiente poder para tarefas rotineiras, e o seu TDP permite o resfriamento passivo. O SSD impressiona com taxas de leitura altas e garante um sistema rápido. A tela de alta resolução de 12,5-polegadas com 3840x2160 pixels convence com alto contraste, boa cobertura do espaço de cores e boa estabilidade dos ângulos de visão. Também é muito responsivo como dispositivo de entrada e implementa comandos instantaneamente. O dock de teclado combina bem com o visual do tablet e agrada o usuário com um teclado silencioso e um touchpad muito preciso.

A primeira vista, um elegante conversível que se torna ainda mais interessante quando da uma olhada mais de perto nas especificações. No entanto, a questão de se a Dell talvez colocou o preço muito alto, permanece.

Apesar de tudo isso, ainda há motivos de crítica. O ângulo de inclinação não pode ser ajustado para a posição de assentamento, o qual não permite uma posição de trabalho ergonômica no escritório. Embora o modelo de teste esteja equipado com o processador mais poderosos da linha Core m da Intel, o desempenho não pode ser completamente usado plenamente. Por isso, o Microsoft Surface Pro 4 com um Core m3, por exemplo, algumas vezes é muito mais veloz. Também esperávamos uma duração ais longa da bateria. O desempenho da bateria deveria ser um pouco melhor em um tablet que também é anunciado para o setor empresarial.

Com ou sem recomendação de compra - quem estiver pensando em comprar este tipo de aparelho agora saberá que desvantagens devem se esperar e/ou que aspectos convincentes o aparelho possui. A Dell demanda exorbitantes 1.799 Euros (~$ 2051) pela configuração de teste. Isso definitivamente não e uma barganha, mas é um dos poucos aparelhos com um painel 4K de 12,5-polegadas - se esse for um fator decisivo. Talvez uma configuração com uma CPU mais fraca entraria em questão, dado que o desempenho pleno do processador Core m7 instalado, não pode ser utilizado de qualquer forma.
