Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Quase nunca um portátil de escritório acessível nos convenceu como o novo ThinkPad E460 da Lenovo: O comprador obtém apenas um sólido aparelho de trabalho com excelentes dispositivos de entrada, mas também um poli funcional potente com todo tipo de qualidades escondidas por pouco mais de 700 Euros (~$743). Graças ao SSD e processador Skylake, o ThinkPad tem suficiente poder para lidar com aplicativos e multitarefas ainda mais exigentes - e, quando desejar, inclusive jogos atuais, assumindo que o usuário está satisfeito com configurações gráficas baixas. No entanto, o fabricante não foi tão cuidadoso com detalhes menos óbvios. Além do veloz módulo wireless 802.11 ac, gostaríamos de elogiar a tela IPS que é um verdadeiro destaque nesta faixa de preços.

É claro que, o E460 tem algumas desvantagens, afortunadamente, nenhuma é considerada como severa. Fazer uma atualização ou uma manutenção no portátil é relativamente difícil, a duração da bateria poderia ser um pouco mais longa, e o prazo de garantia de 12 meses (normal para a categoria) é curto. Apesar de tudo:

 

Dificilmente um rival oferece mais valor pelo mesmo dinheiro - só é pena que este pacote de sucesso esteja reservado apenas para alunos, universitários e professores.
