O Asus G501 teria recebido um passe mais facilmente se fosse de qualquer outro fabricante, mas o fato de que e um ROG automaticamente sobe as expectativas do usuário especialmente dos fãs dedicados. É difícil ignorar os aspectos mais fracos do portátil, como a CPU multi-core inferior ao esperado e o desempenho da GPU da GTX 960M. Os jogos 4K já são difíceis com uma GTX 970M e aqui são ainda mais difíceis na G501. A manutenção poderia ter sido muito mais fácil, os alto falantes integrados poderiam ter sido melhores, e a tampa deixa a desejar e termos de qualidade. Ainda falta fazer um par de melhorias antes de que possa se tornar o G751 da categoria dos portáteis ultra-finos para jogos.

Então, em que se destaca este Asus ultrafino? Sua tela IPS UHD é bela e o seu SSD de 512 GB PCIe 4x é ridiculamente veloz em termos de taxas de transferência de dados. O design do chassi design é tão liso como ode qualquer outro ultra-fino concorrente se não for melhor, devido a sua falta de grades de ventilação visíveis. A duração da bateria é boa e tanto o ruído da ventoinha, quanto a temperatura das superfícies, são baixas, pelo menos em relação a portáteis de jogos de gama alta.

O SSD super veloz e o baixo ruído da ventoinha e as baixas temperaturas resultam em um preço alto com desempenho reduzido da CPU e GPU, respectivamente. Somente não temos certeza de que os gamers hardcore estejam dispostos a fazer esses compromissos.

Ainda falta fazer um par de melhorias antes de que possa se tornar o G751 da categoria dos portáteis ultrafinos para jogos.
