With the included 6-cell battery, expect to get about 4 hours of battery life and with an optional 9-cell battery, Dell says you can get 7.5 hours of life. We did notice that when running on battery power, the laptop does get very hot and the fans turn up to a very loud speed, so make sure to keep it well-ventilated at all times to prevent overheating.

Dell: A Dell Inc. é uma comporação multinacional de tecnologia que desenvolve, fabrica, vende e fornece assistência técnica para computadores pessoais e outros produtos computador relacionados. Com sede no Texas, a Dell emprega mais de 82.700 em todo o mundo (2009). Em 2006, a Dell comprou a fabricante de hardware Alienware. Na maior parte dos países, os portáteis são vendidos diretamente para os consumidores pela Dell e cada portátil é montado de acordo com a seleção de opções do consumidor(é costumizado). O mercado de ações em relação a venda de computadores pessoais em 2007 (pesquisa de mercado IDC): HP 18.9 %, Dell 16.4 %, Acer 9.9 %, Lenovo 7.5 %, Apple 5.7 %.
Estas placas também devem ser capazes de agüentar todos os jogos atuais, mas a maioria deles em configurações de detalhes médios e baixos e com baixas resoluções. Jogos mais antigos, ou menos exigentes ainda podem ser jogados com boa qualidade de gráficos.

740QM: O Core i7-740QM é um CPU quad-core de alta capacidade para portáteis (em 2010) com uma freqüência base relativamente baixa e uma freqüência Turbo Boost máxima alta de 2,93 GHz (para um núcleo). Portanto, combina as vantagens de um CPU quad core lento com um veloz cpu de um só núcleo. Comparado com os CPUs Core i7 móveis, o 740QM somente apresenta 6MB L3 Cache.
840QM: O Core i7-840QM é um CPU quad core de alta capacidade para portáteis que apresenta uma freqüência, graças ao Modo Turbo, de 1,86-3,2 GHz. Portanto, o processador combina as vantagens de velozes CPUs de um só núcleo e CPUs quad-core lentos. O Hyperthreading permite os uso simultâneo de 8 Threads em paralelo.
2630QM: Processador Quad-core veloz baseado na arquitetura Sandy Bridge com uma placa de vídeo integrada e controlador de memória dual-channel DDR3.

Intel Core i5:
460M: O Intel Core i5-460M é um CPU dual core de alta capacidade para portáteis e apresenta uma freqüência (graças ao Modo Turbo) de 2,53 até 2,8 GHz. Cada núcleo se baseia na micro-arquitetura Nehalem (Westemere). O Hyperthreading permite que o CPU Dual Core suporte 4 threads de uma vez (para um melhor uso do pipeline). Comparado com o Core i5-540M, o 460M não suporta as funções AES, VT-d e Trusted Execution e apresenta um Turbo Boost mais lento (2,8 contra 3,06 GHz).
2410M: Processador Dual-core baseado na arquitetura Sandy Bridge com uma placa de vídeo integrada e controlador de memória dual-channel DDR3. O CPU tem uma freqüência de 2,3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2,6-2,9 GHz) e o GPU com 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).

Os portáteis DTR podem ser carregados facilmente, precisam de mais energia, mas por outra parte os textos podem ser lidos facilmente e altas resoluções não são problema. Os DTR principalmente são destinados a um uso fixo em cima de escritórios, onde o peso e a energia não são importantes.
