If it were our money, we’d go for the Acer.

Fujitsu Siemens is no stranger to small laptops, but the Amilo Mini pushes it into the Small, Cheap Computer category along with the likes of the Asus Eee PC and that machine's many, many competitors. If you like to keep your expansion options open, then the addition of an ExpressCard slot certainly makes the Amilo worth looking at and the ability to change coloured lids could be a bonus, depending on your personal preference. Its sub-£300 price tag is also quite appealing. Its downsides, however, are its small display for the machine's overall size, slightly awkward keyboard and touchpad, and sub-par hard drive performance. While it can mostly keep up with the competition, the Amilo doesn't exactly stand out either, making it a decent, if not exactly exciting machine.

Admittedly we did have some complaints with the keyboard - a little too much flex - but we applaud the consistent layout. If anything, it does look as though there is some wasted space here however: a little more on the screen and keyboard without increasing the overall size could have made this a cracking little netbook. Battery life remains an issue - as it is for many of the lower cost rivals - but unfortunately at this point in the evolution of netbooks, the Amilo Mini seems to be missing the vital ingredient - the 3G modem. But for some that might not matter and around the home or within your favourite Wi-Fi zones, the Mini performs pretty well, and looks good to boot.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 é um chip de vídeo integrado (incorporado) na Mobile Intel 945GM chipset. É uma versão clocked mais rápida da GMA 900.
Estes processadores gráficos podem mostrar fluidamente só jogos antigos. Jogos atuais só podem ser apresentados com detalhes substancialmente reduzidos.

Intel Atom: A série Atom da Intel é um microprocessador de 64 Bits para portáteis pequenos e baratos, MIDs, ou UMPCs. A especialidade de sua nova arquitetura é a execução “in order” (ao inves de a usual mais rápida execução “out of order”). Assim, o trabalho do transistor é bem mais baixo na série Atom, e é mais barato para produzir.
N270: CPU de Netbook lento e barato, de um só núcleo energeticamente eficiente. Por causa da execução em-ordem, o desempenho por MHz é pior que o dos processadores Core Solo ou Celeron M.

8.9": O portátil tem um formato de tela muito pequena e rara para subportáteis.
A vantagem é, que o subportátil pode ter menores dimensões e pode ser carregado facilmente. Além disto, a pequena tela tem a vantagem que precisa de menos energia, o que melhora o tempo de execução da bateria e como conseqüência a mobilidade. A desvantagem é que a leitura de textos é muito exaustiva para os olhos. Altas resoluções dificilmente podem ser usadas.

1 kg: Este subportátil é um dos mais leves de todos os portáteis e pode ser carregado muito facilmente.
Fujitsu-Siemens: FSC é um dos maiores fabricantes internacionais com cota especialmente alta de mercados da Alemanha. Nos paises de língua alemã, muitos modelos de portáteis de FSC são analisados.
