The Swift Edge 14 AI is so thin and light it almost feels hollow when you hold it, and that's a credit to Acer's engineering. I still question whether plastic-feeling materials make sense for a laptop at this price point, but it's hard to argue with the results.

Note, however, that newer-gen Intel chips – the Series 3, known as 'Panther Lake' – are incoming – so it could be worth waiting for a likely price drop. The Swift Edge 14 is ultra-light yet doesn’t feel flimsy. It has a new kind of anti-reflective screen that doesn’t dull the impact of the underlying OLED panel. It even has a keyboard and touchpad combo that feels made for real work, not just faffing about in cafes.

EN→PTThe Acer Swift Edge 14 AI is a gorgeous ultrabook with ounces of style, a formidable port selection and solid power from its Lunar Lake processor. It also has a lovely high-res OLED screen and great battery life. You will have to pay a bit for the privilege, though. The Asus Zenbook A14 is its closest rival, and while it will last longer on a charge, its processor isn’t as powerful and its screen isn’t as detailed or comes with as high a refresh rate, plus it has half the RAM capacity. You are saving £200 for the Asus one, though. With this in mind, I think the Swift Edge 14 AI is the definitive choice for folks wanting a featherweight and potent ultrabook that doesn’t compromise much in any area of its game. EN→PTThe Swift Edge 14’s lightweight design and clever anti-reflective screen clearly mark it out as a machine optimised for use out and about in various environments and situations, and for that, it’s one of the very best on the market. The featherweight, but still solid and attractive, design is to be applauded and there’s not much arguing with the price when you are getting a 1TB SSD and 32GB of RAM as well. Sadly, the Swift Edge 14 has been slightly hamstrung with a subpar speaker system and webcam; for the money, both should be better than they are. If more attention had been paid to those two areas, I’d have unhesitatingly given it a Best Buy badge rather than a Recommended award.

EN→PTThe Swift Edge 14 AI isn't cheap, and if you're happy with a slower but still AI-ready Snapdragon X Plus processor and a lower-resolution OLED screen, the Zenbook A14 gives you a similar form factor on a lower budget. However, the Acer has the edge on screen resolution and quality and all-round performance, and gives you much the same experience as the high-end ThinkPad for less. Lenovo's lithe laptop has its rock-solid carbon fibre/aluminium build and some additional enterprise features to recommend it, but Acer's new model is a serious alternative, especially for smaller businesses. Maybe one day all business laptops will offer so much while weighing so little.

Acer: Em 1976, a empresa foi fundada em Taiwan com o nome Multitech e foi renomeada Acer ou Acer Group em 1987. A linha de produtos inclui, por exemplo, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitores, TVs e periféricos de computador. Desde 2007, o grupo se fundiu com a Gateway Inc. e a Packard Bell, que também comercializam suas próprias linhas de laptops.

Core Ultra 7 258V: Um processador da família Lunar Lake de médio porte superior. Esse é um SoC para uso em laptops e tablets mais finos que apresenta 4 novos E-cores e 4 novos P-cores rodando a até 4,8 GHz, juntamente com a nova e promissora Arc 140V iGPU e 32 GB de RAM LPDDR5x-8533 no pacote. Um novo mecanismo neural 47 TOPS, TB 4 e suporte a SSD PCIe 5 também estão incluídos.
Core Ultra 9 288V: O processador mais rápido da família Lunar Lake, de acordo com vários vazamentos de junho de 2024. O 288V deve ser lançado em setembro de 2024; prevê-se que ele tenha 4 núcleos E e 4 núcleos P rodando a até 5,1 GHz, a rápida iGPU Arc 140V e 32 GB de RAM LPDDR5X-8533 on-die. Um mecanismo neural poderoso, suporte a TB 4 e PCIe 5 também estão incluídos.
