Yes, the N-trig, dual touch technology is a huge plus and taking notes and using your finger are almost flawless, but the price is way above its competitors. The XT comes with a nice array of ports and has plenty of optional accessories. The slice battery gives it all day power and the MediaBase gives you an optical drive and more ports then I could ever use. It seems Dell is already talking about updating the XT by November 2008 as well, so I guess we will see what the XT2 has to offer.

The XT2 XFR obviously has a very niche market, but aside from its touch capabilities temporarily ceasing after its spell in the freezer, it appears as rugged as Dell claims it to be. Of course, all that protection comes at a price, but it is in line with the competition, most notably Panasonic’s Toughbook CF-19. It would be nice if it were a bit lighter, especially since it’s designed to be used in the hands, but overall it’s a decent ruggedised tablet-style laptop.

System performance would get a significant boost with a faster drive since the 1.8" model gets an average transfer speed of 28MB/s while most SSDs of the same size would be above 100MB/s. Overall, if you are looking for a very portable tablet designed to hold up to the rigors of daily business use, the Dell Latitude XT2 is a clear winner. The only big downside to this model is the high price tag and lower battery life, but if you can live with those it is hard to find a superior model.

Os laptops empresariais da Dell das séries Latitude e Precision são uma opção para usuários profissionais e empresas.

Em 2023, a Dell tinha uma participação de mercado de aproximadamente 17% nas vendas globais de PCs, ocupando a terceira posição, depois da Lenovo e da HP.

Para os entusiastas de jogos, a marca Alienware da Dell é para notebooks para jogos.

Muitos jogos são dificilmente executados com estes adaptadores gráficos ou se executam muito lentamente.

ATI Radeon Xpress 1250:

Estes processadores gráficos podem mostrar fluidamente só jogos antigos. Jogos atuais só podem ser apresentados com detalhes substancialmente reduzidos.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GPU integrado (memória compartilhada) no chipset GM45 (Montevina). Graças a dois shaders a mais e uma freqüência de núcleo mais alta, é muito mais rápido que o antigo GMA X3100. Mesmo assim, não é recomendável para jogadores (jogos DirectX 10 não são fluidos e podem ser jogados somente com configurações muito baixas). O processador de vídeo integrado é capaz de ajudar a decodificar vídeos HD (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2), como para uma reprodução fluida de Blu-Ray com CPUs lentos.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500M:

O Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD (algumas vezes também chamados GMA X4500 HD ou outras combinações) é uma placa gráfica compartilhada, com capacidade DirectX 10, presente nos chipsets GM45, GE45 e GS45 da plataforma Centrino 2 (Montevina). O chip não tem memória dedicada e a retira dinamicamente da memória principal (até 384 MB). 

Intel HD Graphics 3000: 3 futuras placas de vídeo integradas (Q1 2011) nos processadores Intel Sandy Bridge (Core ix-2xxx). A 3000 / 200 é a versão mais veloz internamente chamada de GT2, com 12 Unidade de Execução (EUs).

Intel Core 2 Duo: Este é o sucessor do Core Duo e o Core Solo com um pipeline mais longo e com 5-20%  a mais de velocidade sem maior consumo de energia. Adicionalmente ao design do Core Duo existe um quarto decodificador, uma unidade SSE ampliada e uma unidade lógica aritmética (ALU) adicional.

Os Core 2 Duo para notebooks são idênticos aos processadores Core 2 Duo para desktops, mas os processadores para notebooks trabalham com tensões mais baixas e um Frontside bus clock mais baixo. O desempenho de notebooks igualmente clocked é 20-25% mais baixo que PCs Desktop  por causa do Frontside bus clock mais baixo e os discos rígidos mais lentos.

2620M: Processador Dual-core muito veloz baseado na arquitetura Sandy Bridge com uma placa de vídeo integrada e controlador de memória dual-channel DDR3.
