overall a great & relatively cheap desktop replacement notebook, which can be used for intensive visual programs (cad, hd decoding, games, ...). i can really recommend this laptop, if you have the money left and need a very fast desktop replacement, which can handle every 3D application with no problems. but if you don't need the 3D power and use to cary your notebook around every day, you might like a smaller one more.

This Dell 17" laptop is a great performer and extremely well built laptop. It seems to be built well enough to be thrown around in day to day use, and hold up throughout a reasonable life cycle in a corporate environment. The SSD option, while expensive, significantly improves both durability and performance of this workstation. The only problems I found which don't relate directly to the function of the laptop are the lack of a second hard drive bay, which would be helpful given the relatively low capacity of the SSD. Additionally, the lack of a dedicated number pad will be a issue for some users and the weight and bulk of the M6300 make it a desktop replacement workstation and not the best solution for corporate road warriors.

Users who favour functionality and don't mind lugging additional weight if it gives them the equivalent of a true desktop environment will find much to like in the Dell Precision M6300, a workstation in the form factor of a laptop. The Dell Precision M6300 is a breed apart; legitimately, a laptop workstation. Many users will see it as a superior business laptop. And given its reasonable pricing, the only thing those power users will have to consider carefully when examining this system is whether they can comfortably deal with the 4kg. If so, they'll find a truly terrific machine.

The Precision M6300 is a high-end desktop replacement with many available configurations and one of the best customer service and warranty terms on the market. 3D designers will appreciate its performance, sound quality and reliable chassis. It is built to last and gives maximum satisfaction as long as a specific build and design is not an obstacle and WUXGA screen is picked (WXGA will not be acceptable for most professionals).

NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M: Esta é uma placa de vídeo de alta capacidade para estação de trabalho (otimizada para programas CAD e 3D) com bom suporte para DirectX 10 e OpenGL – baseada na placa de vídeo GeForce 8700M GT.

Alguns jogos atuais não tão exigentes podem ser jogados fluentemente com poucos detalhes.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Este é o sucessor do Core Duo e o Core Solo com um pipeline mais longo e com 5-20%  a mais de velocidade sem maior consumo de energia. Adicionalmente ao design do Core Duo existe um quarto decodificador, uma unidade SSE ampliada e uma unidade lógica aritmética (ALU) adicional.

Os Core 2 Duo para notebooks são idênticos aos processadores Core 2 Duo para desktops, mas os processadores para notebooks trabalham com tensões mais baixas e um Frontside bus clock mais baixo. O desempenho de notebooks igualmente clocked é 20-25% mais baixo que PCs Desktop  por causa do Frontside bus clock mais baixo e os discos rígidos mais lentos.
