Buying a gaming notebook is always a balancing act — on the one hand, should one spend more money and get a major kick-butt gaming notebook, or spend just enough to get a machine that you can play some current games on. The problem is that no matter how good your gaming notebook is now, it’s not going to be able to play games that will be coming out a year-and-a-half from now. Such is the case for the MSI GX620 — in reality, it’s actually a good example of a very capable gaming notebook and one that can play most last-generation games well, but not all current generation games.

Finally, the speaker quality is what you would expect from a notebook - pretty poor. However using the 7.1 channel SPDIF audio output and a good speaker system, the speaker quality is fairly trival. Besides, what self respecting gamer doesn’t use headphones anyway?

That means, that in some games better frame rate will have GX720 and in some GT735. Processor overclock sounds like great possibility but it results with little improvements in games because bottle neck is actually graphics cards. What model you will choose depends on your budget, but one thing is for sure: you will get very quality notebook with enviably performances as in games as in all other segments.

Though it's not actually called that, the MSI GX720 ($1,800 street) looks as if it were ready to take the gaming market by storm. There are far better gaming laptops in the market, but the GX720 is priced well below them and has a copious blend of media center features.

Though the MSI GX630 may appeal to budget-conscious casual gamers who occasionally fire up a round of Civilization, its keyboard and endurance leave a bit to be desired. Even casual gamers are likely try to play Call of Duty, Prince of Persia, or Mirror’s Edge, and on this system, they’ll be disappointed. Those looking for an inexpensive gaming system will be better served with the (admittedly more expensive) $1,399 Gateway P-7811FX.

Its 2-hour, 49-minute battery lets it behave as an actual portable system, versus competing laptops that need to leap between outlets. And its gaming benchmarks are strong. But even though its screen is refreshingly free of glare, its slightly muted color and distinct sweet spot disappoint. Overall, the GT 725 is a competent gaming and entertainment laptop. It'll fill other roles when needed, but it seems like itself only when you're shooting 3D aliens or playing movies.

If ever there was a notebook that gave mixed feelings, MSI's GT725 is it. On the one hand, its potency in various usage scenarios has us going back for more - perhaps due to the fact that it scores higher in the performance stakes than my own desktop PC. Intel's 2.53GHz processor makes light work of day-to-day tasks, 4GB of RAM is more than ample for most users, and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 is on the cutting edge of notebook graphics. Still, MSI's target market is the gamer that seeks acceptable frame rates on the go. Here's a notebook that scores 9,943 on 3DMark '06, and they generally don't come much quicker than that.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI), is a Taiwan com sede em Taiwan é fabricante de hardware para computador desde 1986, mais reconhecido por suas placas-mãe. A MSI também projeta e fabrica soluções gráficas, bases de PCs, computadores portáteis, produtos de networking, servidores, multimídia, eletrônicos, e dispositivos de estocagem. MSI, como a maioria de fabricantes de computador taiwaneses, vende produtos com uma base OEM/ODM. Ela também vende produtos em todo o mundo com sua própria marca "MSI". A participação da marca MSI no mercado de ações é bem baixa.

MSI análises

Estas placas de vídeo de classe média podem mostrar todos os jogos atuais fluentemente. Jogos exigentes somente podem ser jogados com configurações de detalhes médios.

NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT: Sucessora da 8600M GT e devido ao processo de produção reduzido a 65nm, a placa tem uma freqüência mais alta (e, portanto, é mais veloz) com o mesmo consumo de energia. Além disso, apresenta um processador de vídeo melhorado (VP3) e HybridPower para economizar energia (em conjunto com a 9100M G).

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3850: A HD 3850 com menor freqüência fabricada em 55 nm e com suporte DirectX 10.1. O desempenho deve ser entre a 8800 GTS e a GTX e portanto ela deve se sair bem com jogos como Call of Duty 4. O motor de vídeo Avivo HD ajuda o CPU a decodificar vídeo em HD.

Estas placas de vídeo devem ser capazes de agüentar jogos modernos (com algumas exceções) com altas resoluções e altos detalhes.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850: Baseada na HD 4850 mas com freqüência mais baixa. O consumo atual varia de 45 a 65 Watts para a série 4800. ATI Mobilty Radeon HD 4850 da AMD é um adaptador gráfico de alto nível com DirectX 10.1. Tecnicamente é baseado no GPU HD 4850 mas com uma freqüência mais baixa para economizar energia.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Este é o sucessor do Core Duo e o Core Solo com um pipeline mais longo e com 5-20%  a mais de velocidade sem maior consumo de energia. Adicionalmente ao design do Core Duo existe um quarto decodificador, uma unidade SSE ampliada e uma unidade lógica aritmética (ALU) adicional.

Os Core 2 Duo para notebooks são idênticos aos processadores Core 2 Duo para desktops, mas os processadores para notebooks trabalham com tensões mais baixas e um Frontside bus clock mais baixo. O desempenho de notebooks igualmente clocked é 20-25% mais baixo que PCs Desktop  por causa do Frontside bus clock mais baixo e os discos rígidos mais lentos.

P8400: CPU dual core de classe média com um TDP de 25 Watt. Para o jogador exigente o desempenho poderia não ser o suficiente (para placas de vídeo de classe 1).

P9500: O P9500 é um veloz CPU de classe média para portáteis e basicamente um Core 2 Duo T9400 com TDP de apenas 25 Watt.

AMD Turion X2 Ultra:

15.4: Variantes da tela de 15 polegadas são o padrão e são usadas para mais da metade de todos os portáteis.
A razão do porquê tantas pessoas gostam de telas com tamanho médio é, que esse tamanho não é exaustivo para os olhos, não precisa de muita energia, mas por outra partre os portáteis podem ser mantidos bem compactos.

17.0: Hoje em dia, enquanto a tela de 17 polegadas é ofertada mais frequentemente como formato padrão de substituições de desktop.
Os portáteis DTR podem ser carregados facilmente, precisam de mais energia, mas por outra parte os textos podem ser lidos facilmente e altas resoluções não são problema. Os DTR principalmente são destinados a um uso fixo em cima de escritórios, onde o peso e a energia não são importantes.
