As revisões da GeForce RTX 3090 podem ainda estar sob NDA de acordo com a Videocardz, mas MKBHD e Linus Tech Tips ofereceram algumas impressões iniciais do último cartão da NVIDIA a 8K. O RTX 3090 mostrou oferecer apenas 5% de melhorias de FPS sobre o RX 3080 a 4K, mas o cartão de tripla ranhura parece ser capaz de (principalmente) 60 FPS em jogos a 8K.
Nem Marques Brownlee nem Linus Sebastian ofereceram uma quebra na pontuação do FPS, mas o primeiro pelo menos mostrou um contador de FPS consistente durante seu vídeo. Parece que todas as unidades de revisão RTX 3090 serão emparelhadas com o Intel Core i9-10900K, para referência, que clareia até 5,3 GHz em um único núcleo. Sebastian enfatizou que ele testou o jogo bloqueado a 60 FPS com HDR habilitado, enquanto Death Stranding parecia suave nos gráficos High/Very High com DLSS Ultra Performance habilitado. In Brownlee's video, the RTX 3090 maintained 60 FPS during the Autumn opening sequence of Forza Horizon 4, which continued into the Winter sequence with a few drops as low as 55 FPS. GPU usage seemed to hit 95% at this point, but the Spring sequence pushed the card harder, resulting in a low of 47 FPS and fluctuations between 49-57 FPS in some parts with occasional peaks of 60 FPS.
The performance of the RTX 3090 in Control is more interesting, though. The Founders Edition maintained around 50 FPS in 8K with DLSS, and VSync enabled on a Custom graphics preset. However, these framerates were only achievable with the render resolution set to 1440p. Increasing the render resolution to 4K caused framerates to drop to 32-36 FPS, while a render resolution of 5K resulted in framerates of 20/21 FPS. We are yet to see RTX 3080 8K benchmarks, but it will be interesting to see the difference between NVIDIA's two premium cards. According to TweakTown, these benchmarks should start arriving within the next month, probably after the official release of the RTX 3090 Founders Edition.
