If you need the ultimate combination of affordability, power, and battery life, the MacBook Pro 14 (M4, 2024) is still the way to go, especially if you don’t need to run Windows to access all of your applications.

On the higher-end models, like the one reviewed, it's got the chops to chew through complex calculations, 3D modeling, and anything else you could dream up. But if you can't afford to crank the sliders up to the top, it's no different from most consumer laptops, except the price tag is twice what you'd expect to pay for a comparable Arrow Lake mobile clamshell with no discrete GPU. That said, anyone needing a mobile workstation won't be settling for second-best, which means speccing it out to the nines. In this realm, value takes a backseat to the simple equation of "can it do the task or not," and in that calculus, the HP ZBook X G1i is very good indeed. The only question mark is over the 8GB of VRAM on the discrete GPU, because while it's enough for video editing or other creative tasks, it's nowhere near enough to deal with many of the AI models that you might want to use in the field.

It's really a machine for power users, and a fantastic one at that – but if portability is more of a priority, or a stronger battery life – or you even just need something for more basic tasks – we would consider a cheaper option. That said, for a workstation, you couldn't ask for much more.

W-10885M: Na arquitectura do Coffee Lake, processador baseado na arquitectura para computadores portáteis grandes e pesados. Integra oito núcleos de processadores com relógio a 2,4 - 5,3 GHz que suportam o HyperThreading. Fabricado num processo melhorado de 14nm (14nm++). O Intel Xeon W-10885M suporta as características de gestão vPro, TXT e SIPP e é a versão profissional do Intel Core i9-10885H. 

AMD Strix Halo/Point (Zen 5/5c, Ryzen AI 300):

Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395: Um processador superpoderoso da família Strix Halo que foi lançado em janeiro de 2025. A APU Ryzen AI Max+ PRO vem com 16 núcleos de CPU Zen 5, o adaptador gráfico RDNA 3+ Radeon 8060S de 40 CU e o mecanismo neural XDNA 2 de 50 TOPS. Outros recursos importantes incluem o AMD Secure Processor (um coprocessador ARM no pacote) e o AMD-Vi. Ainda não há suporte para PCIe 5 aqui.

Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 7 265H: Processador móvel de ponta baseado na arquitetura Arrow Lake com 16 núcleos divididos em 3 clusters. Os 6 núcleos P mais rápidos têm clock de até 5,3 GHz. Há também 8 núcleos E menores com até 4,5 GHz e 2 núcleos pequenos de baixo consumo de energia (mesma arquitetura) com até 2,5 GHz. Ele integra uma pequena NPU com desempenho de pico de 13 TOPS e oferece suporte ao vPro Enterprise.
