The Lenovo Slim Pro 9i remains impressively quiet despite the next-gen performance, while that slender chassis is easy to slip inside a backpack. The full package is backed up by a keyboard that offers a good first impression and a wondrous display. It’s not the most portable device and other features that I didn’t have the opportunity to test out, like the speakers and webcam, will also play a part in determining if this is up there with the best of them.

Is the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i better than the MacBook Pro? Tough question. The Lenovo has a faster screen with a touch interface, an Nvidia GPU that makes it better suited to gaming and, in my view, a superior keyboard. The Apple laptop counters with far longer battery life, better HDR performance (but that’s a MacOS vs Windows issue) and better connectivity. Like-for-like, the MacBook Pro is considerably more expensive. My review system has the Mini LED display, Core i9 CPU and RTX 4070 graphics, but I can’t find that exact model on sale in the UK. The otherwise identical RTX 4060 model is, however, readily available for £2,299, and since the performance drop-off between the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 is not that dramatic, I’ve based my value-for-money conclusions on that. What can be said though is that the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 is one of the very best MacBook Pro rivals yet, topping the HP Omen Transcend 16 and Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra in terms of graphical and audio performance, even if it similarly falls foul in battery life.

Lenovo: A Lenovo ("Le" de lenda em inglês, novo (latim) para novo) foi fundada em 1984 como uma empresa chinesa de comércio de computadores. Em 2004, a empresa era a maior fabricante de laptops da China e, após adquirir a divisão de PCs da IBM em 2005, a quarta maior do mundo. Além de desktops e notebooks, a empresa fabrica monitores, projetores, servidores, etc., e é especializada no desenvolvimento, fabricação e comercialização de produtos eletrônicos de consumo, computadores pessoais, software, soluções empresariais e serviços relacionados.

Em 2016, a empresa ficou em primeiro lugar no mundo em vendas de computadores. Em 2023, ela ainda ocupava essa posição, com cerca de 23% de participação no mercado global. As linhas de produtos importantes são Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.

Intel Raptor Lake-H:

i7-13705H: Uma CPU móvel baseada em Alder-Lake com 6 núcleos de desempenho e 8 núcleos eficientes. Os núcleos de desempenho oferecem hyper threading, levando a 20 threads que podem ser processados. A CPU tem clock de até 5 GHz. Em comparação com o i9-13900HK, não há suporte para overclocking fácil.

i9-13905H: Uma CPU móvel baseada em Alder-Lake com 6 núcleos de desempenho e 8 núcleos eficientes. Os núcleos de desempenho oferecem hyper threading, levando a 20 threads que podem ser processados. A CPU tem clock de até 5,4 GHz. Semelhante ao i9-13900H, mas sem suporte a vPro, e o 13905H usa um pacote e soquete diferentes.

Intel Meteor Lake-H:

Ultra 9 185H: Um chip Meteor Lake top de linha que foi lançado em dezembro de 2023. Esse processador Core Ultra de 1ª geração veio para substituir os chips Core de 13ª geração; ele tem 16 núcleos (6 + 8 + 2) e 22 threads à sua disposição. Seus núcleos de desempenho, que são 6, funcionam a até 5,1 GHz, enquanto seus núcleos eficientes, que são 10 (8 núcleos principais mais 2 núcleos extras encontrados na ilha de baixo consumo) funcionam a até 3,8 GHz. A GPU Arc de 8 núcleos, recém-saída do forno, serve como adaptador gráfico integrado - ela funciona a até 2,35 GHz - e há uma série de outras tecnologias totalmente novas em oferta, como a NPU AI Boost integrada com dois mecanismos Gen 3 para aceleração de carga de trabalho de IA de hardware. O consumo de energia "básico" dos processadores desse laptop é de 45 W, enquanto o consumo de energia Turbo não deve ultrapassar 115 W.

Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 9 285H: Processador móvel de ponta baseado na arquitetura Arrow Lake com 16 núcleos divididos em 3 clusters. Os 6 núcleos P rápidos têm clock de até 5,4 GHz. Há também 8 núcleos E menores com até 4,5 GHz e 2 núcleos pequenos de baixo consumo de energia (mesma arquitetura) com até 2,5 GHz. O SoC integra uma pequena NPU com desempenho de pico de 13 TOPS e suporta vPro Enterprise.
