Just ahead of AMD's official Computex 2022 keynote, information about upcoming Ryzen 7000 has leaked online. Ryzen 7000 will feature 5 nm Zen 4 chiplets and a 6 nm I/O die that will include an RDNA 2 iGPU along with PCIe Gen 5 and DDR5 controllers. Ryzen 7000 will also feature 2x the L2 cache as Zen 3 and is purported to offer a 15% uplift in single-core performance.

We've just seen speculated clock speeds of the upcoming Ryzen 7000 "Raphael" APUs from AMD. We are just a few hours away from launch, but information regarding the new processors is already becoming available. According to leaked slides, Ryzen 7000 is all set to bring new platform features and is also slated to offer a 15% higher single-core performance.

Ryzen 7000 will be based on TSMC 5 nm and will include a new I/O die fabbed in 6 nm. By now, it is pretty much known that Ryzen 7000 will combine Zen 4 cores along with an integrated RDNA 2 GPU. The Zen 4 CPUs will also support DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 5. After years of Socket AM4, we finally transition to the new Socket AM5 with an LGA1718 pin layout.

At the moment, we see two 5 nm Zen 4 chiplets and an I/O die in the package. There does not seem to be space for a third core. Therefore, it is pretty much evident that Zen 4 will top-out at 16 cores for mainstream desktop, but we will wait for official confirmation as there have been rumors of a 24-core SKU as well.

Zen 4 will also offer large L2 caches of 1 MB per core — 2x that of Zen 3's. A 15% gain in single-thread performance and 5 GHz+ boost clocks are indicated, but we will have to wait will the event to know the exact fine-print of what they mean. It is worth remembering that AMD has demonstrated a Ryzen 7000 CPU running at 5 GHz on all cores during CES 2022. Also highlighted are new instructions for AI acceleration.

That's all the information we have for now, but more coverage follows AMD's Computex keynote so stay tuned.
