The HP EliteBook 8 G1a combines a premium metal build quality with AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 hardware. In many ways, the result is an excellent, well-balanced machine. AMD’s chips are highly underrated right now. They don’t match the CPU performance you’ll find in a high-end workstation or the battery life you’ll find in a thin-and-light laptop, but they offer an excellent mix of both. Plus, this delivers an NPU fast enough for Copilot+ PC features, so the AI features here aren’t just marketing. If apps ever start taking more advantage of NPUs, you’ll want a fast one like the 50 TOPS NPU here — not the 12 TOPS NPU Intel is still delivering in most PCs. But this isn’t the be-all, end-all business laptop. The display drags down the overall experience, and the graphics performance just isn’t up there with the CPU and NPU performance.

The HP EliteBook 8 Flip G1i is exactly what it appears to be. As a machine for businesses, HP has gone out of the way to make this laptop feel premium with a thoughtfully designed metal chassis, a spacious keyboard, and the best pen storage and charging system I’ve ever seen on a laptop. But not all parts of this machine are quite so premium. I was expecting more from the webcam and microphone, and the display is the main part of the machine that doesn’t stand out. As far as performance, the story here is the story of Intel’s CPU troubles. After reviewing Lunar Lake laptops, I wince at seeing $2,000 Intel-powered productivity laptops with significantly lower graphics performance and power efficiency. And the Arrow Lake CPU here doesn’t deliver noticeably faster performance than Lunar Lake CPUs in our benchmarks.

HP: Fundada em 1939, a empresa norte-americana é uma importante fabricante de servidores e impressoras e uma das principais empresas de TI do mundo. Até 2015, a empresa se chamava Hewlett-Packard Company. Após uma divisão, a divisão de computadores foi renomeada para HP Inc.

Em 2023, a HP tinha uma participação de mercado aproximada de 22% das vendas globais de PCs, o que a colocava em segundo lugar, depois da Lenovo.

Estas placas também devem ser capazes de agüentar todos os jogos atuais, mas a maioria deles em configurações de detalhes médios e baixos e com baixas resoluções. Jogos mais antigos, ou menos exigentes ainda podem ser jogados com boa qualidade de gráficos.

AMD Radeon 860M: Uma iGPU de arquitetura RDNA 3.5 bastante potente que estreou no início de 2025 e é uma sucessora direta da Radeon 760M. Suas 8 CUs/WGPs (512 shaders unificados) funcionam a até 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, geração de imagem AI e outros recursos modernos são suportados aqui, assim como muitos codecs de vídeo populares, incluindo, em primeiro lugar, AVC, HEVC, VP9 e AV1. Intel Graphics 4-Core iGPU (Arrow Lake): Placa gráfica integrada baseada na arquitetura Xe LPG (semelhante às GPUs Arc dedicadas, mas com foco na eficiência). Fornece 4 núcleos Xe (64 mecanismos vetoriais Xe) e 4 unidades de rastreamento de raios.

Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350: Um processador relativamente potente da família Krackan Point que foi lançado no início de 2025. A APU integra 8 núcleos de CPU (4 núcleos Zen 5 com até 5 GHz e 4 núcleos Zen 5c com até 3,5 GHz). Em comparação com o chip quase idêntico para o consumidor, o Ryzen AI 7 350a variante PRO oferece suporte a recursos adicionais de gerenciamento e segurança.
