Na verdade, não muito mudou entre o P57X v6 e o mais recente v7 que estamos analisando hoje. Ambos possuem carcaças iguais (plástico, relativamente portátil), layouts componentes internos similares, a mesma seleção de portas, e inclusive a mesma GPU e SSD. As maiores diferenças (e talvez apenas notórias) com o v7 são a inclusão de uma CPU Core i7-7700HQ  Kaby Lake, uma maior resolução, tela 4K de maior resolução, e o dobro de RAM (com velocidades de memória mais rápidas, também).

No geral, embora existam máquinas para jogos mais rápidas e melhor construídas, o Gigabyte P57X v7 ainda é uma opção poderosa com uma bela tela.

Tudo isto contribui a níveis de ruído da ventoinha mais baixos, menos aquecimento (porém, ainda bastante quente em algumas áreas), e uma experiência visual muito mais bela, graças à tela muito melhorada (melhor brilho, cores médias, e, é claro, resolução). No entanto, muitas das mesmas queixas ainda se aplicam em algum outro lugar. A carcaça não é nada surpreendente, e a tampa da tela parece ser  um pouco frágil. Também, ainda é bastante barulhento (embora conte com um software de controle da ventoinha fácil de usar), e o touchpad permanece pobre. A duração da da bateria também deu diminuída curiosa desde o último modelo, o que realmente não seria uma surpresa, dado o pulo na resolução/brilho da tela e e quantidade de RAM, se não fosse pelo fato de que nossas medidas de consumo de energia parecem sugerir o contrário. Mesmo assim, é um portátil para jogos, por isso vamos tomar o que podemos que se aplique às durações da bateria e nos focar no que realmente importa.

Os tempos de resposta para a tela são realmente o único ponto negativo aqui, e isso pode ser problemático para aqueles que realmente estão nos jogos FPS e outras experiências de reflexos rápidos. Para outros tipos de jogos, isto pode não ser um problema (dado que seria similar a jogar na televisão). Escolher o painel de 1080p provavelmente mitigaria esses problemas (dado que os tempos de resposta foram melhores no painel do v6), mas parece você não pode ter o melhor de ambos mundos.

No geral, embora existam máquinas para jogos mais rápidas e melhor construídas, o Gigabyte P57X v7 ainda é uma opção poderosa com uma bela tela. Ele lida com cargas pesadas em passo e apresenta muitos recursos de expansão ou melhoria para aqueles interessados em alguma personalização após a compra. Assumindo que esteja planejando ficar longe da tomada e que não se importa pelas deficiências da carcaça e do touchpad, não é uma má escolha.
