Um dos principais objetivos de um portátil desmontável é substituir o tablet e o portátil do usuário com uma solução 2-em-1. O resultado normalmente é menos que perfeito com qualidade irregular, teclado pobre, uma tela pesada, menos recursos, e desempenho mais lento performance, dado que o hardware deve caber no formato do tablet.

O Surface Book é facilmente um dos melhores desmontáveis atualmente no mercado. Ele aborda a maioria dessas preocupações diretamente com excelente qualidade de construção de cima para baixo, um teclado iluminado que se sente melhor do que em muitos Ultrabooks, uma tela relativamente leve, com um marco estreito, e desempenho do tipo de portátil de sua exclusiva GPU Nvidia acoplável. Fora alguns bugs ao montar e desmontar o tablet, tudo sobre o Surface Book funciona incrivelmente bem com pouco para reclamar.
