Por um lado, o S540-14API oferece melhor desempenho multi-core do que o S540-14IWL, graças ao seu processador Ryzen 7 3700U. No entanto, enquanto a Radeon RX Vega 10 é poderosa pelos padrões de GPU integrados, ela fica aquém da GeForce MX250 na S540-14IWL. O RX Vega 10 também não possui VRAM dedicada, usando 2 GB dos 8 GB de RAM. Essas mudanças, junto com a troca do conector de energia por uma segunda porta Type-C, teriam garantido o futuro do S540 pelo menos nos próximos dois a três anos.

Ambos os dispositivos possuem armazenamento NVMe rápido, o que ajuda o sistema a funcionar sem problemas. Você sempre pode substituir a unidade por uma maior, mas 512 GB devem ser suficiente para a maioria das pessoas. Também gostamos que a Lenovo tenha decidido não incluir uma baia de 2,5 polegadas, pois isso permitiu que incluíssem uma potente bateria de 48 Wh. O S540-14IWL tem melhor duração de bateria que seu irmão com tecnologia AMD, mas ambos duram um dia inteiro entre as cargas.

No geral, quase nada separa o S540-14IWL do -14API. A GPU NVIDIA no anterior oferece melhor desempenho gráfico e de jogos do que a GPU integrada RX Vega 10, enquanto a Ryzen 7 3700U tem a vantagem sobre o Core i5-8265U em tarefas com múltiplos núcleos. A tela tem sido frequentemente o ponto fraco de portáteis recentes da AMD que analisamos, e o S540-14API não é diferente. O dispositivo tem um painel mais escuro do que sua contraparte com tecnologia Intel. O bleeding da luz de fundo e o PWM não são problemas que estão presentes no S540-14IWL. No entanto, ambos as telas têm fortes desvios delta E-2000 e pequenas coberturas de espaço de cor.

 

O Lenovo IdeaPad S540-14IWL e o -14API são ambos excelentes portáteis multimídia de 14 polegadas. Eles são bem construídos, bom valor para o dinheiro e vão poder realizar a maioria das tarefas que você possa jogar neles. Ambos estão aquém de alcançar as melhores pontuações por diferentes razões.

 

Gostamos do design simples e elegante, que parece moderno e discreto. O chassi de alumínio também é resistente, assim como a tampa da tela. O IdeaPad S540 também tem uma boa seleção de portas, embora a inclusão do agora ultrapassado HDMI 1.4b pareça míope, assim como a decisão de omitir o suporte para DisplayPort ou Thunderbolt da única porta Type-C. Essas mudanças, junto com a troca do conector de energia por uma segunda porta Type-C, teriam garantido o futuro do S540 pelo menos nos próximos dois a três anos.

 

Ambos os dispositivos possuem armazenamento NVMe rápido, o que ajuda o sistema a funcionar sem problemas. Você sempre pode substituir a unidade por uma maior, mas 512 GB devem ser suficiente para a maioria das pessoas. Também gostamos que a Lenovo tenha decidido não incluir uma baia de 2,5 polegadas, pois isso permitiu que incluíssem uma potente bateria de 48 Wh. O S540-14IWL tem melhor duração de bateria que seu irmão com tecnologia AMD, mas ambos duram um dia inteiro entre as cargas.

 

No geral, quase nada separa o S540-14IWL do -14API. A GPU NVIDIA no anterior oferece melhor desempenho gráfico e de jogos do que a GPU integrada RX Vega 10, enquanto a Ryzen 7 3700U tem a vantagem sobre o Core i5-8265U em tarefas com múltiplos núcleos. Em última análise, é um caso que importa mais para você.
