Comino é um fabricante de sistemas que produz estações de trabalho e soluções completas de data center multi-GPU de acordo com as exigências do cliente. O fabricante associa tudo isso a um sistema de resfriamento líquido especialmente desenvolvido. Devido ao perfeito acabamento e aos extensos testes, a Comino entrega seus sistemas em qualidade de servidor, mesmo se for uma estação de trabalho ou um PC de jogos de alta tecnologia.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WX atende 4 GPUs Nvidia RTX A6000 de uma só vez

O fabricante Comino nos enviou a estação de trabalho GRANDO RM V2-S para a revisão. Todo o sistema foi embalado em uma caixa de madeira resistente com muito estofamento, para que o sistema chegasse sem danos. Especialmente com PCs prontos para uso que também são equipados com um sistema de resfriamento de água, a embalagem segura e estável é uma obrigação. A Comino já fez tudo aqui mesmo. Mas agora ao próprio sistema. Construído é umAMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WXcom um total de 32 núcleos de CPU e roscas. Portanto, este processador é atualmente a segunda CPU AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro mais rápida da AMD. A Comino instala 4 Nvidia RTX A6000 placas gráficas nesta configuração. Cada uma tem 48 GB de VRAM, que é o dobro do tamanho de uma Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. Mas isso não é suficiente, porque os 32 núcleos são suportados por uma enorme quantidade de 512 GB de RAM. Deve ficar claro para todos que esta configuração não é barata, porque só um Nvidia RTX A6000 custa cerca de 5.000 euros (~$5.659). Assim, não é surpreendente que o resultado final seja quase 29.000 euros (~$32.824) antes dos impostos para este sistema.

OAMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3975WXé um verdadeiro monstro da computação com seus 32 núcleos. Somente em alguns pontos de referência é que o AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX se diferenciar nos testes multi-core. A vantagem de desempenho da estação de trabalho Comino GRANDO reside claramente no resfriamento embutido. Isto garante que os 32 núcleos possam chamar o desempenho ideal e, portanto, podem bater os supostamente mais rápidos 64 núcleos da AMD. Com seus 32 núcleos e o total de 64 fios, o Threadripper Ryzen Pro 3975WX da AMD é perfeitamente adequado para virtualizações. A generosa RAM DDR4 ECC de 512 GB é uma vantagem aqui. Entretanto, o Threadripper AMD Ryzen Pro 3975WX não pode contar com as vantagens da arquitetura Zen3 atual, uma vez que apenas as matrizes Matisse, que são baseadas na arquitetura Zen2, são instaladas sob o enorme espalhador de calor. Comino GRANDO RM V2-S no Cinebench R15 multi-loop

O conceito de resfriamento especialmente desenvolvido garante um bom desempenho, o que já vimos nos benchmarks de CPU. Mas mesmo sob carga permanente, o resfriamento não atinge seus limites. Desempenho da aplicação

Nos benchmarks de aplicação, a estação de trabalho Comino GRANDO RM V2-S pode dominar se o software também for capaz de recuperar o desempenho de todas as placas gráficas. O teste do LuxMark mostra muito claramente qual desempenho pode ser esperado. Nos outros benchmarks, o número dos quatro Nvidia RTX A6000 infelizmente não mostra vantagem. Dependendo do teste de renderização, às vezes Nvidia e às vezes AMD se beneficiam do desempenho.
O armazenamento em massa instalado de nossa amostra de teste compreende 2 TB e fornece taxas de transferência muito rápidas graças ao protocolo NVMe. Também tivemos 512 GB de memória de trabalho DDR4, o que é um exagero absoluto para cargas normais de trabalho. Quem encomendar uma máquina com esta quantidade de memória de trabalho deve saber como utilizá-la.

Que uma estação de trabalho não deve ser usada principalmente como uma plataforma de jogos fica claro quando você analisa em detalhes os testes de jogos. Especialmente nos dois jogos Far Cry , nossa amostra de teste tem enormes problemas com taxas de quadros jogáveis. As coisas parecem um pouco melhores nos outros jogos que examinamos, embora o desempenho do Nvidia RTX A6000 esteja às vezes claramente atrás do Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. Além disso, o suporte multi-GPU está completamente ausente nos jogos, de modo que apenas uma das quatro GPUs poderia ser usada. Entretanto, se você desativar três das quatro placas gráficas, a performance do Nvidia RTX A6000 utilizado individualmente aumenta significativamente. Comino GRANDO RM V2-S resfria surpreendentemente bem

O conceito de resfriamento da estação de trabalho Comino GRANDO RM V2-S é único. Tanto o Threadripper AMD Pro 3975WXassim como os quatro Nvidia RTX A6000As placas gráficas são resfriadas por um sistema de resfriamento líquido especialmente desenvolvido. Muito surpreendente é o uso de um único radiador de 360 milímetros (~14,2 pol.). Além disso, três ventiladores de 140 milímetros (~5,5 pol.) são instalados na caixa a fim de conduzir o calor residual para fora da caixa. Para isso, é necessário observar mais de perto a construção da caixa, pois o sistema não deve ser usado sem o painel lateral montado, pois de outra forma a pressão dos ventiladores não é suficiente para forçar o ar através do radiador.

Os 32 núcleos aquecem até um máximo de 69 °C (156,2 °F) no teste de esforço com Prime95. Se também iniciarmos o FurMark, o processador aquece até 73 °C (163,4 °F), embora observemos 57 °C (134,6 °F) para a placa gráfica. Entretanto, o FurMark usa apenas uma GPU sob carga. Várias configurações para alterar isto foram tentadas sem sucesso. Com outras ferramentas, porém, foi possível carregar todas as placas gráficas ao mesmo tempo para verificar se o resfriamento é capaz de resfriar todos os componentes, apesar do radiador único. De fato, isto é possível. Entretanto, as temperaturas das placas gráficas sobem um pouco mais de 80 °C (176 °F), o que ainda está bem dentro da zona verde. Se considerarmos que há um total de calor residual de 1.480 watts (CPU + GPUs), o resultado final é muito bom. Quanto ao projeto do Comino GRANDO RM V2-S, deve ser mencionado que é um rack de 19 polegadas. Assim, o uso planejado é mais em uma sala de servidores com ar condicionado, o que deve melhorar ainda mais as temperaturas. A temperatura em nosso ambiente de teste era de 22,6 °C (~73 °F) no momento do teste.

O desempenho extremamente alto também tem uma desvantagem

A estação de trabalho Comino GRANDO RM V2-S estabelece novos patamares no consumo de energia. Mesmo em modo inativo, nosso dispositivo de medição mostra pouco mais de 200 watts. Assim que iniciamos Prime95, ele aumenta e atinge uma média de 580 watts. Mas isso não é suficiente, pois quase 716 watts têm de ser fornecidos durante os jogos. Medimos uma média de 1.880 watts no pior cenário, onde carregamos a CPU e as GPUs a 100%. Entretanto, o máximo que as unidades de fornecimento de energia têm que fornecer é de até 1.940 watts. Fontes de alimentação, sim, você leu corretamente. Se você já tiver dado uma olhada mais de perto na configuração, você pode ver que um total de três fontes de alimentação SFF com 750 watts cada uma estão instaladas. O Comino GRANDO RM V2-S não é uma simples estação de trabalho de prateleira. Pelo contrário, o fabricante fez questão de responder diretamente aos desejos do cliente, a fim de oferecer soluções personalizadas de estação de trabalho. Ele também conta com componentes de servidor para oferecer a melhor estabilidade possível no uso diário. Entretanto, o fabricante ousa equipar o sistema com um sistema de resfriamento por água para resfriar perfeitamente o processador e as placas gráficas. Dificilmente poderíamos acreditar que um único radiador seja suficiente para manter o sistema inteiro sob controle após a primeira inspeção visual.
