No papel, é claro que o Lenovo ThinkPad T490 é o sucessor do ThinkPad T480. Mas, na realidade, o design do ThinkPad T490 é radicalmente diferente, o que torna apropriado chamá-lo de uma mistura do T480 e do T480s em vez de um sucessor direto para o T480. Essa combinação é muito bem feita, mas também há pontos fracos.
O ThinkPad T490 tem uma carcaça robusta feita de plástico reforçado com magnésio, que é muito mais leve e compacta que a carcaça do T480. As opções de conectividade são abundantes, assim como os recursos de segurança disponíveis e as opções de comunicação com o RJ45 de tamanho completo, além do LTE (opcional), além do Wi-Fi. Como é típico para um ThinkPad, os dispositivos de entrada são muito bons. A maior melhoria em comparação com as antigas gerações do ThinkPad está relacionada à tela. Embora a tela seja um dos melhores argumentos para o ThinkPad T490, seus tempos de resposta são extremamente ruins e os movimentos rápidos do cursor resultam em fantasmas. O T490 tem muitas portas, mas infelizmente, a Lenovo substituiu o slot para cartão SD com um slot para cartão microSD - uma mudança desnecessária em nossa opinião. Também é lamentável que a porta Thunderbolt 3 esteja conectada através de apenas duas pistas PCIe. De todos os recentes ThinkPads T/X com tela de 14 polegadas, o T490 é o modelo mais atualizável, mas é difícil abrir e fechar a carcaça. As altas temperaturas sob carga também são problemáticas, pois elas cruzam o importante limiar de 50 °C (122 °F). O bom desempenho e o ventilador silencioso têm seu preço, afinal, dado que o T490 também se afoga no teste de estresse. Outro problema do T490 é o ruído que emite: É atormentado pelo ruído do alto-falante e da bobina. Finalmente, lamentamos a perda do recurso PowerBridge - as baterias USB C podem ter a mesma função, mas o PowerBridge era um recurso interessante e confortável.
O Lenovo ThinkPad T490 é o mais novo modelo da série T tradicional - a Lenovo fez muitas alterações em comparação com o modelo anterior. Embora nem todas essas mudanças tenham sido boas, considerando tudo, o ThinkPad T490 é um melhor portátil que o T480.
No geral, o Lenovo ThinkPad T490 é um portátil corporativo muito bom, mas a Lenovo deve consertar o alto-falante com uma atualização de software. Além disso, a questão é quão bem o sistema de resfriamento iGPU mais fraco pode resfriar o processador.
