Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

O Centro de Controle pré-instalado permite escolher um perfil de desempenho (ver tabela), entre outras coisas. Utilizamos o perfil "Entertainment Mode" incluindo o controle automático do ventilador. Conselhos de auto-ajuda: Problemas de BIOS com o G5 GD

O dispositivo de teste que nos foi fornecido apresentava um problema: estrangulamento da CPU durante a execução de aplicações 3D. Isto se refletia em jogos agitados - às vezes em maior grau, às vezes em menor grau. Foi possível rastrear o problema de volta à BIOS: Das sete versões da BIOS lançadas até agora, apenas as três primeiras versões (FB01 a FB03) funcionam sem problemas - nosso dispositivo de teste foi enviado com a versão FB07 da BIOS. Portanto, acabamos optando por instalar a versão BIOS FB03 para realizar nossos testes

Windows 10 ou Windows 11 - Depende da versão da BIOS

O G5 só é compatível com o Windows 11 a partir da versão FB06 da BIOS. Versões anteriores causam o congelamento do laptop mesmo antes da inicialização real de um sistema operacional Windows 11 previamente instalado. O Windows 10 funciona com todas as versões da BIOS.

Processador

O processador hexa-core Core i7-11400H (Tiger Lake) atinge taxas de relógio de 4,1 GHz (seis núcleos) a 4,5 GHz (um núcleo). O Hyper-Threading (dois fios por núcleo) é suportado. Os testes de CPU do benchmark CB R15 são executados em 4,1 GHz (multi) e 4,1 a 4,5 GHz (simples). As taxas de relógio são de 1,9 a 2 GHz (multi) e 3,1 a 4,5 GHz (simples), respectivamente, com a energia da bateria

O teste de multi-resistência Cinebench R15 (mín. 30 minutos) mostra que a CPU Turbo é utilizada continuamente - a um nível médio. Um ligeiro aumento da taxa do relógio Turbo é obtido selecionando o perfil "Performance Mode".

Estranho: Enquanto o perfil "Performance Mode" aumenta um pouco o desempenho multi-tarefa, o desempenho de rosca única cai ao mesmo tempo. Isto pode estar relacionado com a versão desatualizada da BIOS que tivemos que instalar.
