EN→PTThe Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus is a slick phone, from one end to the other. It feels fast and responsive, the look is immaculate, if familiar, and the camera has the chops to keep up with the most demanding of photographers. It’s not an aggressively forward-looking phone in all respects, though. Battery tech is what sticks out the most in day-to-day use. While rivals from Xiaomi, Oppo and co. forge ahead with high-capacity Silicon-Carbon batteries and their long-standing ultra-fast charging, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus is all too easy to drain down in a day.

EN→PTLast year, we said it didn’t matter if the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ were boring, as long as they were good. That has changed. Samsung has seen fit to raise prices on these phones with no obvious improvement to their predecessor. This does a disservice to an otherwise excellent and stable Galaxy S series, because it makes it hard for us to tell people why they should buy a Galaxy S26 or S26+ over the previous models. Yes, this year’s phones are very good, if not one of the best options for flagship phones, but we also have to be prudent and judicious when recommending new and shiny things to people. The change to Samsung’s own processor did not yield extraordinary gains over established flagship chips like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. This also hurts the two phones’ value proposition when the obvious mass market details like displays, cameras, and battery uptimes are largely similar year-on-year.

EN→PTThe Samsung Galaxy S26+ is priced at Rs 1,19,999, representing a Rs 20,000 increase over the Galaxy S25+. If you are upgrading from an older Galaxy phone, this model offers a compelling case. However, for recent S-series users, the improvements are not substantial enough to justify an upgrade. Performance is fast, and the overall experience is refined. However, the changes are minimal. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, available for Rs 1,18,999 on Amazon India, remains a more balanced option and was Samsung's top flagship for 2025.

EN→PTYour phone needs to work for you, not someone else, so be sure to pick a model that suits your needs: If you want the Galaxy with the most storage, only the Galaxy S26 Ultra offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. If you want a smaller, more pocketable phone, the Galaxy S26 is the way to go. If you want a big phone but don’t care about the S Pen, the Galaxy S26+ could be for you. As always, your budget and network availability should inform your decision-making. Apart from the camera and the option for more storage offered by the Ultra, the three phones perform nearly the same across the board. In other words, you really can't go wrong.

EN→PTThe Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus is exactly what I expected it to be: a solid mid-tier Android smartphone that does enough to be great but doesn’t quite make it to excellence. Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset for Galaxy, the S26 Plus topped even the most premium competitors on performance. Jumping into games like Destiny Rising on the highest graphics is a breeze, and you can genuinely expect to enjoy performance that's largely comparable to the best gaming phones on Samsung's latest flagship middle child. The S26 Plus' 6.7-inch display is just as bright and colorful as the S26 Ultra's, highlighting all of the gorgeous colors in my favorite media content. Its premium svelte design is stunning in certain colorways, too, and the near bezel-less face makes for an immersive viewing experience.

EN→PTI don’t think either the Galaxy S26 or the S26 Plus is particularly impressive. These are effectively the same phones as last year, which were the same phones as the year before that, and so on. However, while we can usually recommend both the base and Plus models for committed Samsung fans, I don’t think that’s true with the S26 series. If you like Samsung phones and desperately need an upgrade, the base model Galaxy S26 is a fine choice. It has the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip as the other two more expensive S26 models, the same cameras as the S26 Plus, and comes in a much more comfortable, pocketable form factor than its two larger siblings. As you might have heard, the S26 is more expensive this year, but it also comes with double the storage — 256GB instead of 128GB. That’s $100 more than the 128GB Galaxy S25 and $40 more expensive than the 256GB version. It’s not ideal, but it could have been a lot worse. It could have been like the Galaxy S26 Plus. Samsung’s Plus model has always been the awkward middle child of the Galaxy S family, and this year, it simply doesn’t make any sense at all. There’s no storage upgrade like the S26 benefits from, but the S26 Plus is still more expensive. The 256GB model sees a $100 price increase to $1,100, while the 512GB variant was hit with a whopping $180 price increase to $1,300.

EN→PTThe Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ may not be the most exciting upgrades, but they quietly get almost everything right. They are fast, reliable, and polished in a way that makes everyday use feel effortless. Yes, the lack of major upgrades and the price hike can feel a bit disappointing, especially if you are coming from last year’s models. But if you are upgrading from an older device, both phones still deliver a solid flagship experience without any real compromises. Choosing between the two ultimately comes down to your preference. If you want a compact, easy-to-handle phone that fits seamlessly into your daily routine, the Galaxy S26 is the one to go for. But if your usage leans more towards gaming, streaming, and immersive viewing, the Galaxy S26+ with its larger display makes a stronger case. That said, there is one more thing to consider. At Rs 1,19,999, the Galaxy S26+ sits uncomfortably close to the Ultra. And at that point, stretching your budget a little further might actually get you a more feature-packed device.

Reviewing Samsung's Galaxy S26 Plus (Exynos 2600 model from the UK), after testing it as my full-time phone for a week. Here's my thoughts on the camera abilities, battery life, gaming performance and everyday real-world use. Is the Samsung S26 Plus a weak alternative to that Ultra smartphone? Well, vs the Ultra, you have few real upgrades here. In fact, thanks to the switch from Snapdragon to Exynos, this generation isn't as strong for battery performance compared with the previous generation. The Samsung S26 Plus can still play the latest, most demanding games like Wuthering Waves, but don't expect to spend long before the power is drained. This big-screen Galaxy phone sports a sadly familiar camera setup, although the good news is that image processing has been slightly improved. The Samsung S26 Plus can take quite crisp night photos, although it still occasionally struggles with action pics with kids and pets. Likewise, the zoom camera isn't so hot in low light.

EN→PTThe Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus gets most of the fundamentals right. The display is strong and consistent, the software experience is refined, and performance is smooth for everyday use. The camera system is dependable, and the overall experience feels stable across different use cases. However, it falls short in areas that matter for long-term usability. The heating issues during both light and heavy usage are difficult to overlook. The redesigned camera module also introduces practical inconveniences, from wobble to dust accumulation. This is a phone that works well for general use and media consumption, but it is not ideal for users who prioritise sustained performance, especially in gaming. It remains a well-rounded flagship, but some rough edges are hard to ignore.

EN→PTIf I’m going to be completely honest, and so as not to beat around the bush, while I can and would recommend this phone to people, at the $200 higher price point, I would only say you should buy this device if you want the larger display and larger battery, which doesn’t last as long, at least in my case. For me personally, I prefer the larger display for mobile games and for watching videos. If you have smaller hands and don’t like larger phones, then you’re better off spending less money and getting the Galaxy S26 instead. They’re both essentially the same exact phone. Where the only real differences are the display size, resolution, and battery capacity. Both phones are good. So, if you don’t care about the larger display, get the Galaxy S26. If you want the larger display, get the Galaxy S26 Plus.

They’re faster and longer-lasting than almost anything in their price range, and their displays and designs remain some of the slickest around. The S26+ is particularly compelling, as you’re getting a fantastic 6.7-inch screen for a little less than the price of other big phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Samsung’s own Galaxy S26 Ultra. But with these phones now starting at $900 for the S26 and $1,100 for the S26+, the math gets a little trickier.

These are traditional modern successful flagships with high-quality screens, top performance, a universal set of cameras that shoot well, a user-friendly interface with the prospect of major updates in the next 8 years, a classic pleasant design and protection of the case from dirt and water according to the IP68 standard. Of the technical complaints, the only thing that can be noted is the heating of the Exynos 2600 under prolonged loads (which will be noticeable only to gamers) and the lack of autofocus in the ultra-wide-angle camera.

EN→PTI like to imagine the kind of person who would want to buy a phone as I wrap up a review, but I'm struggling with the Galaxy S26 Plus. It's not a case of it being a bad phone — it does everything you could ask of a premium Samsung phone. But the target audience feels very narrow. On its face, the S26 Plus still looks like good value compared to other flagship phones available today if you're purely interested in screen space, even accounting for the higher price. For photography or battery life, the Ultra does it better, while also offering unique elements like its Privacy Display. For performance, or AI features, the standard S26 does all the same things as the S26 Plus, but for less money.

EN→PTAnother year, another Galaxy S Plus model that tastes like reheated leftovers. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently wrong with the Galaxy S26 Plus—it's a boringly decent phone that's sadly outshined by its slightly pricier, better-camera-wielding, and S Pen-featuring Galaxy S26 Ultra cousin. The whole existence of the Galaxy S26 Plus is questionable to me, as the economic side of owning one doesn't really make sense. If you're already spending $1,100 on a Galaxy S26 Plus, it certainly makes sense to splurge on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, where you get a better camera, a display with better features, significantly better performance, and an S Pen stylus.

No new product names and categories, no major changes, no big shakeups in the performance or design areas, and no interesting upgrades. What we get is a very familiar pair of devices that retain their major selling points and key differentiators but start to look a bit boring when superimposed on the current Android market. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the phone that maximalists and power users will inevitably pick, as it will most certainly end up being the most powerful Android phone available in the US for the foreseeable future. EN→PTNow, should you buy the Samsung Galaxy S26+? This is such a tough question to answer, honestly. I have to use the Malaysian pricing for this part so your consensus may vary because I am going to compare with the previous generation’s price. At the time of scripting this review, the entire S26 series is actually way much more expensive than the previous generation. This is also the first price hike that I’ve seen that is caused by the global DRAM shortage that effects RAM and SSD, but the price is quite egregious to say the least. Now, you might say other brands are very low in price – so why not get those? Well, their price hikes are coming soon too.But in the uniqueness of the Galaxy S26+, I’d say you can just get it now and score the free double storage upgrade, or wait till the price drops. I’m not sure how much the price will drop since there’s a DRAM shortage that we still don’t see the end of. In any case, I assume Samsung will bring the latest One UI 8.5 alongside all of the new features to the previous generations as well, but at a later date. And since we have that in mind, maybe you can also consider getting the S25+ too. The price of that is waaaaaaaaaay lower right now.

EN→PTThe Galaxy S26 series is not a radical new start. The design and camera continue to develop cautiously, but there are no real hardware revolutions. Instead, Samsung is clearly shifting the focus towards AI, display technology, and system integration. The Ultra remains the most exciting model – primarily because of the display and the new AI functions. At the same time, the S26 and S26+ also benefit from the new software approach. Anyone expecting a classic hardware upgrade may be disappointed. Those who want to see where smartphones are heading as personal assistance systems will get a very interesting outlook here. Like most mainstream phones, the S26 phones come with rounded corners and flat sides. The easier way to distinguish the S26 from last year's models is to look at the rear cameras. EN→PTUnlike the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which has seen a number of meaningful hardware changes, the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus have to rely more on Samsung's new AI features to differentiate themselves from the phones that came before, plus a small increase in display and battery size for the basic S26. I would add the new chipsets as a plus point as well, but we don't know yet whether the Exynos 2600 will match up to (or perhaps even beat) the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. This lack of upgrades perhaps makes for a higher threshold to clear for these phones to be worthy replacements of what you're already using. EN→PTIt's clear that Samsung is betting big on AI once again. Right now, the most sophisticated, and arguably the most useful, AI features are the ones found in One UI. But not everyone seems to be sold on the AI buzz just yet, especially in countries where English isn't the main language, as most of these features support either English or a few other languages.

EN→PTSamsung’s latest Galaxy flagships deliver incremental updates, but perhaps that’s to be expected considering the current economic landscape. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Screen is a truly innovative feature and a welcome addition that comes without a price increase. And while the Galaxy S26 costs $100 more than its predecessor, it features double the storage, a marginally bigger display, and a slightly larger battery, so it's easy to justify.

The Galaxy S26 series now come with improved performance, cameras with focus on Galaxy AI experience that translates into real-world experiences.

EN→PTHaving just applauded the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra for not feeling stagnant, I can’t say the same about the other two S models. There are nips and tucks here and there, and the end results still feel polished, but there isn’t much that feels like it warrants an upgrade. Less still considering the price increases. I may end up being pleasantly surprised when I get them both in for testing – Samsung is a dab hand at smartphone production after all, and even its humblest models tend to deliver brilliant results in some form or another, but as things stand right now, I’m not hugely impressed. We’ll be putting both through our rigorous testing process soon enough, so be sure to check back in to find out what our final verdict is on the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus.

EN→PTSamsung is once again playing things extremely safe with its flagships. With the best camera and most features and functionalities on board, it will be the expensive but no-compromise phone to get in early 2026. Unfortunately, all of that is soured by the formulaic and boring release. At the same time, the Galaxy S26 Plus continues being that weirdly positioned device that feels a bit off. It's a flagship, but not quite, and it's compact, but not as much as the Galaxy S26. Once you consider buying the Galaxy S26 Plus, it's very easy to get upsold to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which could be the only reason for its existence.

EN→PTSamsung’s Galaxy AI umbrella is growing by the day, and at CES 2026, the brand showcased how it’s taking AI beyond smartphones and integrating it into other segments, such as appliances. Advancements in AI are happening at breakneck speed, and with the new S26 series, the brand is showing how the core aspects of AI — task automation, productivity enhancement, image editing, photography, etc — are finally coming together meaningfully, like pieces of a puzzle. These new Samsung devices are much more than smartphones now — they’re AI-enabled systems or platforms designed to enhance, speed up, and smoothen everyday tasks, and in turn, improve lives.
