Com o Ryzen 5 Mobile, a AMD claramente se vê à frente dos chips Kaby Lake Refresh da Intel. Uma declaração com a qual podemos concordar se removemos o "claramente" disso. No caso da 2500U, o poder de computação geral está no mesmo nível com o Core i5-8250U ou logo abaixo do Core i7-8550U. No Multi-Core, o Ryzen 5 parece ter uma vantagem (+5%), mas esta alta pontuação Cinebench não pode ser mantida em desempenho permanente. Mas vamos ser justos: muitos dispositivos Intel mostram essa queda no turbo também. Quanto tempo o turbo está totalmente ativo ainda depende muito da implementação do fabricante (capacidade do sistema de resfriamento). 

Nos últimos anos, as implementações da AMD sofreram muitas vezes de acompanhamento de hardware insuficiente, mais recentemente Bristol Ridge. Para atender o nível de preços, foram usados painéis TN ruins, memória HD, RAM de um canal ou chips WLAN lentos. Como um todo, uma pilha de miséria foi deixada para trás, o que, além disso, era claramente mais fraco do que as alternativas da Intel. 

Com o Swift 3 SF315-4-R4W1, a Acer não cometeu grandes erros - pelo menos não tantos. O aparelho de 15 polegadas possui uma memória DDR4 rápida (Dual Channel habilitado), um bom módulo Wlan (2x2 AC, BT 4.2) e oferece uma tela equilibrada (cores calibradas), bem como dispositivos de entrada adequados. O Ryzen 5 também pode manter o seu nível com o atual hardware de Skylake e de atualização Skylake, enquanto os gráficos Vega 8 são mais rápidos do que os gráficos Intel UHD Graphics 620 (Skylake Refresh).

Em geral, o dispositivo tem um preço apropriado de 800 euros (~ $ 955) e podemos dar uma recomendação restrita para comprar. As desvantagens reais são o lento SSD da Intel, que aparentemente prejudica as pontuações do PCMark e as durações fracas da bateria (5 horas em vez de 8 horas), causadas por um alto consumo de energia no modo inativo.

O Radeon Vega 8 somente satisfará jogadores até certo ponto (padrão 940MX). Resta saber como o Radeon RX 540 (2 GB) se desempenhará no futuro próximo. Se ele se desempenhar bem por cima do MX 150, então o preço de pouco menos de 1.000 Euros (~$1199) pelo seu modelo irmão com Ryzen 7 (Swift 3 SF315-41G) também estaria justificado.
