O Pavilion 17t está perto da mesma máquina que analisamos seis meses atrás, e como tal, ele preserva a maioria dos pros e contras de seu predecessor. Ainda é uma máquina para jogos capaz de gama baixa a média, e agora consegue lidar com a maioria dos jogos modernos com resolução nativa (1080p) em configurações mais latas, graças à sua GPU atualizada (a respeitável, porém, modesta GTX 1050). Ele também continua sendo consideravelmente mais portável que muitos outros concorrentes que compartilham esse tamanho de tela… e por falar dessa tela, é realmente boa. O desempenho é veloz e bastante impressionante, em geral, especialmente quando a máquina está sob muito estresse; nem sequer se imuta, apesar de seu sistema de resfriamento simples.

Se o preço e o desempenho forem primordiais - e a durabilidade, ergonomia e a manutenção/upgrades não são uma preocupação séria - o Pavilion 17t-ab200 é, pelo menos, um aparelho rápido.

Fora isso, no entanto, ele realmente não tem muito que oferecer. A carcaça de plástico é um dos motivos de sua relativa falta de peso, mas também é o motivo de possui uma tampa de tela mais frágil do que gostaríamos, bem como um visual e sensação mais baratos. Os dispositivos de entrada estão entre médios e pobres. Entretanto, a manutenção é desnecessariamente desafiadora, com um sério risco para as partes mais finas da carcaça de plástico durante o delicado processo de desmontagem. A seleção de portas também permanece escassa (com apenas HDMI para a saída de vídeo, sem USB Type-C, e falta de NVMe para SSDs de gama superior), provavelmente desqualificando a máquina como uma opção viável para profissionais  empresariais sérios. Finalmente, ainda é bastante barulhento durante operação leve, embora as temperaturas tenham melhorado bastante sobre o modelo anterior, graças à CPU e GPU mais eficientes.

Em vista dessas desvantagens, realmente somente há um tipo de usuário para o qual esta máquina faz muito sentido, e esse seria o gamer de orçamento reduzido. Se o preço e o desempenho forem primordiais - e a durabilidade, ergonomia e a manutenção/upgrades não são uma preocupação séria - o Pavilion 17t-ab200 é, pelo menos, um aparelho rápido. De outra forma, se o orçamento puder ser expandido, seria difícil recomendá-lo.
