Em contraste com o painel VA no HP ProBook 440 G8nosso modelo utiliza um painel IPS com a mesma resolução de 1.920x1.080 pixels em uma diagonal de tela de 14 polegadas. A distribuição de brilho da tela mate de 83% também é muito semelhante e fica no meio-campo. O nível de preto de 0,25 lêndeas é bom, e o contraste de 1.216:1 é consideravelmente maior do que no modelo anterior e no modelo irmão.

270 lêndeas é ligeiramente mais brilhante do que a especificação do fabricante de 250 lêndeas. Os dois laptops Lenovo, assim como oHP Pavilion 14 são os únicos que administram mais de 300 lêndeas em nosso campo de testes. Da mesma forma, os tempos de resposta do ProBook são medíocres para diminuir a velocidade, como em todos os dispositivos de comparação listados. Não notamos nenhuma cintilação do PWM.

Há três painéis alternativos: 400-nit de baixa potência (100% sRGB), 1.000-nit SureView (100% sRGB), e um painel de 250-nit com 1.366x768 pixels.

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19480 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Devido ao painel um pouco escuro (270 lêndeas), a mobilidade ao ar livre é um pouco limitada, pois é necessário um ponto sombrio para poder ler o conteúdo da tela. Uma superfície de tela mate por si só não é suficiente.

Além disso, os usuários têm que desativar "Vari Bright" nas configurações Radeon da AMD para não perder o brilho na energia da bateria.

O desempenho do processador AMD hexacore-core é mais do que suficiente para aplicações de escritório.
