O Lenovo Legion Y920 com preço de rua sugerido de $2.299 é um substituto de desktop de boa qualidade, destinado para jogos e equipado de forma correspondente. Tudo, desde A CPU Core i7-7820HK com opção de overclock, a GPU GTX 1070 até o veloz SSD  NVMe da Samsung e a tela IPS G-SYNC de 17,3 polegadas correspondem ao perfil e posicionam o Y920 para competir diretamente com alguns dos gigantes do mercado.

Para esse fim, encontramos o desempenho GPU de gama alta que - enquanto abaixo da mediana ligeiramente para a GTX 1070 - ainda é incrivelmente veloz em geral, junto com excelente desempenho geral do sistema. Os níveis de ruído são notáveis, mas nunca extremamente incômodos, as temperaturas da carcaça são surpreendentemente confortáveis, e o pacote de software Lenovo Nerve Center incluído permite o ajuste fácil de parâmetros relacionados, como a velocidade do ventilador e o overclocking automático. Finalmente, a qualidade da construção é de primeira qualidade, com a combinação de plástico ABS e encaixe de alumínio, muito bem combinados e formando um pacote atraente e agradável ao toque.

As falhas primárias do Legion Y920, entretanto, são encontradas nas categorias de desempenho contínuo da CPU (graças a temperaturas do chip extremamente altas sob uso intenso de múltiplos núcleos) e dispositivos de entrada. Com relação ao anterior, enquanto o Core i7-7820HK impressiona no papel, o Y920 não conseguiu alcançar o nível do desempenho turbo que o Alienware 17 R4atingiu (4,0 GHz permanentemente sob uso intenso) graças às temperaturas não verificadas que rapidamente se estenderam para os 90 C. Isto sugere que uma configuração equipada com o Core i7-7700HQrepresentaria um melhor valor e um aparelho mais estável em aplicativos multi-core. Quanto aos dispositivos de entrada, os botões integrados do clickpad podem ser desconfortáveis, e o teclado mecânico - embora, certamente, um recurso decisivo - possui um tipo de resposta único e pouco ortodoxo (bem como teclas soltas e barulhentas) que definitivamente exigirá um período de avaliação e adaptação grande. Pode até ser um elemento de desistência para alguns usuários; nós pessoalmente preferimos o teclado Lenovo AccuType convencional.

Perdoando o desempenho decepcionante da CPU e o teclado mecânico não convencional, realmente não há muito mais para criticar sobre o Y920. Ele é enorme, pesada e seguro de si mesmo em seu estilo, mas é exatamente o que esperamos ver de uma máquina de jogos moderna de 17,3 polegadas.

Quanto ao controle deslizante do Modo Turbo, encontramos poucos motivos para deixá-lo desativado, e descobrimos que o desempenho, quando habilitado, embora seja marginalmente maior, não era necessariamente melhor que o de concorrentes equipados de forma similar. Parece um pouco habilidoso a esse respeito, mas supomos que a opção é sempre superior à alternativa.

Portanto, perdoando o desempenho decepcionante da CPU e o teclado mecânico não convencional, realmente não há muito mais para criticar sobre o Y920. Ele é enorme, pesada e seguro de si mesmo em seu estilo, mas é exatamente o que esperamos ver de uma máquina de jogos moderna de 17,3 polegadas. É fundamentalmente superior ao Y900 que o precede, e reside na companhia do Alienware 17 R4 e Asus ROG GL752VS com desempenho e preço similares. Aqueles à procura de uma substituto de desktop sólido, equipado com GTX 1070 devem, pelo menos, dar uma olhada (e brincar com o teclado, se possível) antes de se definir uma compra.
