EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is a legitimate flagship in every meaningful sense, boasting a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a Leica-tuned triple camera system, a stunning LTPO AMOLED display, and a 6,330mAh/7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery that reframes expectations for all-day endurance. HyperOS 3 is the most polished version of Xiaomi’s software to date, and six years of update support gives buyers long-term confidence in the purchase. For readers upgrading from a two- or three-year-old flagship, this is a phone that justifies the jump in nearly every category: battery, display, performance, and camera are all meaningfully ahead of what was considered flagship-tier two or three years ago. Whether upgrading from last year’s model makes sense is a different question, and for most people on a standard upgrade cycle, the answer is probably no, unless you’re on a monthly installment plan or switching carriers. The US availability situation is a friction point.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is a ruthlessly competent flagship with a very attractive pricetag. It excels in display quality and battery endurance while offering reliable camera output. However, its design is plain, the ultrawide camera could be better, and its true potential is being held back by thermal issues. Aside from battery life, it doesn’t exactly excel greatly in one specific area, but it does almost everything well. It’s ideal for those looking for compact flagships with excellent value and have grown weary of competing brands launching new devices with incremental upgrades.

EN→PTThe market for compact flagship smartphones is small and competitors are few. That gives the Xiaomi 17 a large advantage. Your alternatives really only stop at the Samsung Galaxy S26. Technically, the Google Pixel 10 also fits the flagship ~6.3-inch bill, but that option quickly falls through when you look at the phone’s performance. The lack of competition also emboldened Xiaomi to increase the price to S$1,249. Also, being smaller doesn’t mean it needs to be worse, having brought in the 512GB model replete with all the high-end parts we’ve covered above. The blow to pricing is softened by Samsung’s respective price increase for the Galaxy S26. That smartphone, in fact, is even more expensive at S$1,438 for only 256GB of storage. Xiaomi also addressed the Xiaomi 17’s higher starting price by bringing in a cheaper 256GB variant at S$1,149.When you look at its Leica-tuned cameras, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the huge battery (with high uptimes), and super-fast charging speeds, the Xiaomi 17 ends up looking like the best compact option available right now. Hence, we think it remains as one of the best options for compact phone lovers who still want true flagship performance and experience. There’s always room to improve, though, and we’d love to see Xiaomi include an autofocus module in the ultrawide camera next year, along with upgrading the telephoto lens to a 3x optical zoom option or more.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is a well-built, capable flagship that gets most things right. The compact design, great display, impressive cameras, and excellent battery life make a convincing case for it. But at Rs 89,999, the limited telephoto reach and the minor software rough edges are harder to overlook when the competition is this capable. If a compact form factor and Leica-tuned cameras are high on your priority list, the Xiaomi 17 is worth every rupee. EN→PTXiaomi's 17, despite some downgrades, remains an easy recommendation for someone looking for something better or different than the typical camera setup under Rs. 90,000 in India. Leica-branded cameras aside, the Xiaomi 17 is a solid device with the best chipset available, an excellent display and good battery life in a compact form factor. It should be the one to reach for if you are serious about photography or video recording, as it offers more mature image processing than what Vivo's X300 and Oppo's Find X9 offer. However, given that these competing smartphones have nearly as good hardware for less, your decision to pick the Xiaomi 17 will mainly boil down to its Leica imaging, video recording capabilities, processing power and your budget. If you seek even better battery life from a compact device, the Oppo Find X9 should be an easy pick, with its higher-capacity 7,025mAh battery at a lower price of Rs. 74,999. You will get an impressive set of cameras with the Find X9, but video recordings won't be as impressive as on the Xiaomi 17.Vivo's X300 is another sharpshooter at this price point, offering far better ultrawide camera performance than the Xiaomi 17.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 gets a lot right by knowing exactly what it wants to be. Instead of chasing gimmicks or trying to outdo its siblings with louder hardware, it focuses on delivering a compact flagship experience that still feels complete. The understated design, comfortable in-hand feel, strong display, capable Leica camera system, and unusually large battery all come together in a package that feels thoughtfully balanced rather than compromised. It is not perfect. The haptics can feel a little too aggressive, and at €999, it is clearly a premium purchase rather than an easy impulse buy. Still, the Xiaomi 17 makes a convincing case for itself by offering top-tier performance, long software support, and excellent battery life in a size that is becoming increasingly rare. For anyone who wants a flagship Android phone without moving up to a much larger Pro, Max, or Ultra device, the Xiaomi 17 is one of the most appealing options in its class.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is a phone that knows what it wants to be. Compact, capable, and camera-forward, it delivers on all three in a way that is hard to fault for the most part. The Leica colour science helps it stand out from its rivals, the battery and performance hold up well in daily use, and the thermal improvements over the Chinese variant are a good step forward, making the Indian unit a better overall package. Where it falls short is also pretty clear. The ultrawide is the weakest lens in the system, the 2.6x telephoto zoom leaves you wanting more reach, and the software needs a bit more polish before it feels truly flagship-grade. None of these is a dealbreaker on its own, but at Rs 89,999, the phone needs to be held to a higher standard.

Both are similarly compact 6.3-inch flagship phones, but some may prefer the Xiaomi's Qualcomm chipset over the Samsung Exynos in the S26. The Xiaomi 17 also has the advantage in battery capacity, charging, and most likely the cameras, too, though we have yet to test the S26's cameras properly. Reviewing the Xiaomi 17 (global model), the best smartphone for fans of mini handsets in 2026 with its impressive battery tech, flexible Leica camera and premium specs. Sure, the Xiaomi 17 global edition isn't perfect, with some unfortunate gaming side-effects. But I really enjoyed my time testing this compact phone, which is a serious Samsung Galaxy S26 rival. First up, you've got that beefy Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in charge. Gamers can play intensive titles like Wuthering Waves on the Xiaomi 17, same as the Samsung S26. However, this smartphone does get quite toasty, to worrying degrees. That Leica camera setup is a banger as always, with fresh hardware for this 2026 model (unlike the Galaxy S26). You can capture great-looking night shots and portraits, with a decent telephoto shooter attached. The Xiaomi 17 is also decent for recording video, if you want a mini vlogging device.

EN→PTA week with the Xiaomi 17 provides a clear answer to the question posed at the start of this review: is it worth the price? Yes, it is. However, the value depends on understanding what you expect from a smartphone. If you are looking for a compact flagship that is comfortable to use one-handed, offers around two days of battery life, performs well in most photography scenarios, and features one of the better displays in its class, the Xiaomi 17 presents a strong option. There are some minor drawbacks: ads appear in the system interface, low-light video quality is not exceptional, and the camera module tends to attract fingerprints and dust. How significant these issues are will depend on the user. For me personally, as someone who has generally been hesitant about this brand, the Xiaomi 17 was the first model that made me consider purchasing a Xiaomi device. That, perhaps, is the most objective assessment I can provide.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is a great compact flagship phone, offering good design, a lovely display, plenty of power and considerable battery life. It's the stamina of this phone that makes it stand out compared to big-name rivals like Samsung's Galaxy S26, while the fast charging is also to its credit. The camera experience is good, with a comprehensive set of lenses and good performance in most shooting conditions. The downside of this phone comes from the software experience, which takes plenty of work to wrestle it away from Xiaomi and start feeling like it's working for you. There's clear competition from Samsung and Google in this 6.3-inch flagship space, but the Xiaomi isn't as leftfield as you might think – and on account of all the positives above, plus a competitve price point, it's well worth considering.

EN→PTXiaomi 17 is a versatile and fairly compact flagship, “for every day”, which not only meets all the basic requirements for this class of smartphones, but also has several nice bonuses. The smartphone has a great screen, a top-notch processor, a nice design, protection against dirt and water, high-quality stereo sound, as well as good main and telephoto cameras. To this, it is worth adding an exceptional battery life and fast charging. But it also had its weaknesses. The smartphone heats up significantly and loses performance during prolonged loads. Last year, the Xiaomi 17 Series gets released in China with three new models including the base Xiaomi, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. And if you’re wondering what happened to the Xiaomi 16 Series? Well, they skipped it entirely and jumped straight to 17. It wasn't entirely clear what was the reason behind the jump, but most of us think it was just about Xiaomi keeping up with Apple's iPhone 17 Series. Setting that thought aside, the more important question is how does the Xiaomi 17 keep up with our daily use?

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is a wonderfully powerful and refined compact smartphone. Performance and battery life are excellent, the cameras perform well across all lenses and the display is sharp, bright and colour-accurate. From a hardware perspective, I can confidently say that you will not be disappointed if you choose the Xiaomi 17. The unsaid implication there, of course, is that the software is a different story. I find Xiaomi’s software frustratingly obnoxious, so intent on imitating Apple that it fails to keep up with the rest of the Android crowd. The Samsung Galaxy S26 may end up not matching the Xiaomi 17 in performance and battery life, but its superior software (along with its sleeker and lighter build) are likely to make it a more appealing compact phone overall. With Samsung bringing this kind of ammunition to the fight, Xiaomi would do well to spend a little less time trying to be Apple and a little more time figuring out how to compete with rivals inside the Android stable.

EN→PTOn one hand, the Xiaomi 17 doesn’t feel like a massive generational leap over the Xiaomi 15, and for that reason, I can’t imagine existing owners rushing to upgrade. On the other hand, it’s a great all-rounder, and if you’re looking for a flagship in a more compact chassis, few come close to this. It has a significantly bigger battery and faster charging than either the iPhone 17 or Galaxy S26, and in my opinion, better cameras, too. Software is a matter of personal preference, but HyperOS is super customisable, so if there’s anything you’re not keen on, you can likely change it. What Xiaomi can’t quite match is the software support terms. So if you’re planning to hold onto your phone for a long time, that could play into your decision. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Xiaomi 17; it has been great for gaming, content consumption, and photography alike. EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is a well-rounded compact flagship. It combines strong performance, reliable cameras, long battery life and very fast charging in a relatively small chassis. None of its individual features are radically new, but together they create a cohesive and impressive device. Its main drawbacks are ergonomic rather than technical. The narrower display may not suit users accustomed to larger phones, and HyperOS, while feature-rich, may require adjustment for those who prefer a cleaner Android experience. So, in the end, if you’re looking for flagship specifications in a smaller form factor, the Xiaomi 17 is a very solid option. It does not redefine the category, but it executes the fundamentals impressively well.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 is one excellent compact flagship phone that I definitely enjoyed using. It successfully combines a compact size with a no-compromise performance and also delivers truly impressive battery life. The camera, while not mind-blowing in any way, is still more than capable for 90% of most people's needs. Pound-for-pound, the Xiaomi 17 beats its main rivals, like the iPhone 17, the Pixel 10 Pro, and will most likely beat the Galaxy S26, too, especially in terms of value. The only major downsides here are the on-board software, which is far from the best one out there, and the limited availability. Sure, you can get it easily from many of the online outlets that resell Chinese phones in the West, but this way you won't be able to benefit from any promotions and discounts. And as we know, this is what most people buying an iPhone, a Pixel, or a Galaxy from a US carrier benefit from. So the playing field is uneven from the get-go. Disregarding that, however, the Xiaomi 17 is an excellent phone that impressively beats most of its rivals.

The 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display, excellent stereo speakers, and handy one-handed form factor make it a great everyday device for content consumption and general use. The 7,000mAh battery is another impressive aspect with excellent endurance in testing and real-world use while still keeping the phone relatively slim and light for its class. There are, however, some trade-offs to keep in mind. The phone gets warm from time to time and runs hot under sustained gaming and heavy camera use, which leads to throttling and occasional lag in more demanding titles. Xiaomi has equipped the 17 with a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and a stunning 3500 nits peak brightness — one of the brightest in any smartphone today.

EN→PTEven in its China-only form, the Xiaomi 17 Pro looks like a promising 2026 flagship. The secondary display, which is more purposeful than most attempts we’ve seen in recent years, brings a fresh look and enhances the smartphone’s usability. Moreover, the compact build feels genuinely premium, and the performance and battery efficiency suggest a flagship ready to compete at the highest level once global optimisation is in place. The cameras, while capable, still need fine-tuning to match the best in every scenario, and region-based restrictions currently limit some of the phone’s most interesting software features. If Xiaomi can refine the global software experience and unlock the full potential of the secondary display and accessories, the 17 Pro could easily become one of the most compelling flagships. It may even be worth holding out for, should the brand decide to launch it in India.

EN→PTXiaomi's all-new 17 series made its China debut a few weeks ago, and the series, comprising three models - Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max - is expected to make its India debut in early 2026. While the India launch could be weeks or months away, Xiaomi India sent out China models of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Pro for a limited period to Gadgets 360 for a quick first look. Here's why we believe this will be the company's biggest launch in recent years. With three models, Xiaomi caters to users seeking different screen sizes, ranging from 6.3 inches to 6.9 inches. What are the key things to watch out for in the upcoming Xiaomi 17 series? Weighing 192 grams and measuring just 8mm thick, it feels comfortable in the hand while maintaining a premium design. The phone also carries an IP68 rating, meaning it can survive up to 30 minutes underwater at 4 meters depth — a big plus for durability. The 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display is nothing short of stunning. EN→PTAs we wrap up this review, the big question is: what do you think of Xiaomi’s first compact Pro model? By breaking away from the tradition of reserving the “Pro” badge for large-screen devices, the Xiaomi 17 Pro brings a refreshing surprise to those who have long awaited a true small-screen flagship. At just 6.3 inches, it condenses the essence of a large-screen flagship into a compact form, delivering uncompromised flagship performance in a smaller body. The display features a 6.3-inch “golden size” panel with 1.5K resolution, 460 PPI pixel density, a slim weight of 192g, and the latest M10 luminous material for sharper, richer visuals. On the photography side, the Xiaomi 17 Pro doesn’t cut corners.

EN→PTEvery generation, I seem to enjoy Xiaomi’s Ultra effort for different reasons, but I’m glad the firm isn’t, like some rivals, just pumping out the same device year after year. For the 17 Ultra, the major change is a more familiar phone-style design, with flat sides and a fibreglass back, rather than the camera- style with vegan leather back. I’d like to see both available as options, as per last year, but the Starlit Green model I have looks nice and isn’t simply orange because an iPhone is. As long as you like the design here, the 17 Ultra ticks all the boxes you’d expect for a top-tier flagship: it has a dazzling screen, silky smooth performance, the latest wireless components, extras like an IR blaster you don’t find elsewhere, and one of the best camera systems in any phone right now. And that’s without factoring in the optional photography kits, which, compared to the likes of Samsung and Google, is still its secret weapon. Xiaomi has even kept the price the same as its predecessor, the 15 Ultra, which bucks the 2026 trend. Even so, if your heart isn’t set on an almost 7-inch phone with DSLR-like cameras, you can get similar performance for a lot less money – the regular Xiaomi 17 being a prime example. Those wanting all the extras won’t be disappointed with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, though.

Comparing the OPPO Find X9 Ultra vs Vivo X300 Ultra vs Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones to see how their camera tech, battery life, gaming smarts and other bits stack up. Which is the best phone for you? Sure, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra sports some insane telephoto camera action, but its rivals aren't far behind. The Vivo X300 Ultra also boasts one of the best camera phone setups of 2026, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is just as beefy with solid specs. If you're after some of the best hardware that you can stuff into your shorts, you certainly came to the right video. I've reviewed all three of these phones and you can also see my videos on ColorOS, HyperOS and OriginOS right here on Tech Spurt. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra have a lot in common. They're all powered by the same powerful Snapdragon chipset, so the gaming experience is second to none. All three also offer up a large 6000mAh-plus battery, although I did find that one of this smartphone trio wasn't as dependable as the others for all-day life. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra serves up better camera hardware on paper, and I already gushed all over it in my review. However, the Vivo X300 Ultra uses the same main sensor and is certainly one of the best phones in 2026 for snapping photos and video.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 Ultra delivers on almost every front, with Xiaomi making particular strides in design and thermal performance. This is a powerful, fast-charging uber-flagship with a Leica-tuned camera system that's hard to beat. The phone's main 1-inch sensor, with its new LOFIC HDR tech, impresses, as does the mechanical zoom within the huge 200MP telephoto sensor. Xiaomi's HyperOS software could be better, and I wish the 17 Ultra were cheaper, but these are small concessions.

$2,394. That's how much it cost me to eBay the latest Leitzphone (plus its optional photography kit). If you know Leica, you know that’s the price to pay for the privilege of bearing one of the most coveted camera brands in history ... and I’ve spent two weeks trying to condense my thoughts about this latest "Leica Phone" into something coherent. From one viewpoint, it’s an impostor: a cynical money grab that wasn’t even built by Leica, can’t live up to the quality and won’t hold the value of a real camera. But while I understand that reflexive cynicism, I don’t share it. Because in my view, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica is everything a special-edition smartphone should be: it’s respectful to the heritage of the brand it’s building upon; it brings features (and photos) no other phone can produce; and it’s based on a flagship foundation with very few compromises. I’m MrMobile and I love this thing; lemme tell ya why.

EN→PTI've written a lot of words about this phone. Most of them were about the cameras, which tells you something already. But if you’re someone who prefers reading the last page of the book first, here it is. Every now and then, a phone comes along that makes me question how much I actually need my camera bag. The 17 Ultra is that phone right now. Not because it matches a dedicated camera—it doesn’t—but because the gap has shrunk to where the convenience of always having it in your pocket starts winning over the marginal quality gain of carrying a separate body and lens—and a bag to carry them all. The 1-inch main sensor gives images real depth and tonal richness. The telephoto is the best zoom lens I’ve used on a phone.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 Ultra remains the best smartphone for photographers if we’re coming it at purely from a camera setup point of view. With its excellent one-inch sensor, plus two supporting great ones, including an innovative zoom lens, you can take great pictures in a diverse range of situations. Special modes, such as night, portrait and macro also produce excellent results. That said, there’s not a big difference here from the 15 Ultra, certainly in terms of photography anyway. The screen is bigger, the device is slimmer, the battery life is longer – but all of these things are perhaps small upgrades for the average person, compared to any kind of revolution in image quality. Of course, I expect most people don’t actually upgrade their phones every year. If you’ve got something older, such as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, or an older model from a completely different brand, this will represent a significant step-up so it’s worth considering. It comes in cheaper than the nearest rivals, including the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and arguably offers more for your money too. If you’re happy to step outside the “big two” and get something truly special for photography, this is the one to get. Overall, this is a superb phone and I can’t do much other than recommend it – except perhaps if you’ve already got last year’s model.

EN→PTI believe the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a marquee device. That is because almost all Android phones north of Rs 1 lakh are marquee phones due to the challenge from the iPhone Pro. On the whole, the iPhones at this price range are just too good in terms of what they offer to consumers. They are generalist phones, doing everything in a way that makes most sense for most consumers. Having said that, it is important to acknowledge that there is a world beyond iPhones. And in this world, at least for now and in India, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the best phone to buy. It offers a remarkably polished user experience. And, along with the Pixel 10 Pro, it comes with arguably the best set of cameras you can currently get in the world of Android. But unlike the Pixel 10 Pro, it also offers superlative hardware. Overall, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the flagship Android phone to buy in India. It offers everything you may want in a phone, and it does so at a price that is fairly aggressive and reasonable compared to a few other flagship Android phones out there.

I am not an actor, nor do I wish to be an influencer who enjoys being in front of the camera. I would rather be behind the camera, capturing everyday moments that I love to do. It’s one of the perks of being a tech journalist: travelling the world, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures. And, most importantly, testing new gear ahead of anyone else. I hear it…those who keep pushing me to be on Instagram but it’s not going to happen, ever. EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a camera phone. Xiaomi will tell you that, the Leica branding on the back will tell you that, and the large circular camera module that dominates the rear will tell you that before you’ve even turned it on. And after spending considerable time with the phone — including a week in Vietnam shooting over 500 photos — I’ll tell you that too. The cameras are as good as advertised. But here’s the thing nobody is really talking about. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has another trick up its sleeve, one that doesn’t come with a Leica badge or a catchy acronym. It has one of the best batteries I’ve used on a flagship phone in recent memory.

EN→PTFor the most part, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a phone that impresses. The pricing is higher this time, but it's totally understandable given the RAM price hikes! There have been improvements in many areas — it's more refined, more mature, and getting closer to being a truly balanced flagship. But is it the most balanced flagship out there? Not yet. Something like Samsung still feels slightly more polished overall, and the software is still the bottleneck. Xiaomi could improve further by adding more meaningful AI features, refining animations, and improving battery optimization. But when it comes to the camera experience, it's just so good. Going out on a weekend for a photo walk, shooting black-and-white portraits, capturing nature, chasing light — this is that phone. The camera experience feels serene. Pure. Buying it largely comes down to two things: whether the cameras justify the price, and whether you can live with a phone that is big, heavy, and expensive in a market full of strong alternatives. Additionally, Xiaomi has managed to keep prices the same over the last two years. If you really can’t bear to fork out that extra S$100, all you have to do is take advantage of the early bird discount to pay S$1,699. Whether it’s the new and more refined HyperOS 3, the improved Leica-branded cameras or the excellent hardware inside, Xiaomi has continued to do a lot of things right. But this year, there are even more competitors to fight against. While the Xiaomi 17 Ultra continues to compete against the Honor Magic8 Pro, the Honor phone is still S$300 more affordable while sporting the same processor, a larger battery and faster charging speeds. On the plus side for Xiaomi, the 17 Ultra has the Magic8 Pro beat when it comes to detail retention in both telephoto and low-light shots.

The camera system is class-leading, the display is stunning, and the performance is flawless. Having come from a year with the 15 Ultra, I expected to be impressed but not by this much, and yet here we are. The upgrades across camera, display, and battery life are substantial enough to make this feel like a true generational leap rather than a minor refresh. On a personal note. the flat display is a design choice I respect but don’t fully prefer, particularly for extended handheld use where the 15 Ultra’s curved ergonomics had a natural advantage. EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 Ultra made me hate AI photos. I wasn’t a big fan of tweaking my photos using AI editing tools in the first place. There is a sense of personality in capturing imperfect photos. I am, after all, an incredibly average photographer! I know my photos aren’t artistic, and I’m quite happy with that. I don’t need an AI object eraser to remove people or objects, or (more recently) type and describe how I want my photo to look, and let AI do its thing. A lot of phones now offer several AI tools to help you create that “perfect” photo. So, imagine my surprise when Xiaomi said they don’t want to rely heavily on AI camera features, but rather deliver on true camera hardware to help capture perfect photos. After using the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s cameras this week on Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island, capturing over 500 photos, I can safely say I agree with their vision.

Those who value what large sensors and Leica-approved optics can do are going to be in photography heaven here. It sets the standard for telephoto clarity, steps up its selfie game, and that lead lens remains a shortcut to bokeh brilliance. The film-like image processing and a selection of official accessories also help it stand out from less characterful rivals. You’re also getting flagship-grade performance, rapid charging speeds and a screen that’s simply gorgeous. It’s undeniably expensive, though. In both daylight and low light, it consistently delivers results that are among the best I’ve seen on a smartphone so far this year. Beyond the cameras, the upgrades are meaningful. A larger 6.9-inch flat display, a massive 6,800mAh battery without added bulk, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset all make this a serious flagship package. Xiaomi really caught everyone off guard by dropping the Xiaomi 17 Ultra months ahead of schedule. Usually, we have to wait until spring for the "Ultra" flagship, but it's already here to kick off 2026 with some massive changes. The design has seen a complete overhaul. The curved screen is gone, replaced by a fully flat display that feels much more like the Pro Max. It’s significantly better for gaming and applying screen protectors, even if the flat back feels a bit sharper in the hand compared to the older 15 Ultra. But the real controversy is the camera system.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 Ultra was announced on December 25, 2025, and released just two days later, positioning itself firmly in the ultra-premium flagship segment. It comes in two versions, including a Leica Edition with a mechanical zoom ring, which immediately sets it apart for camera enthusiasts. The phone feels solid and premium with its glass front, aluminum frame, and fiber-reinforced plastic or eco-leather back. At 230 grams and 8.5 mm thickness, it is heavy but well-balanced.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has finally landed, and it’s doing something we haven't seen from an "Ultra" phone in years—it actually went on a diet. After generations of massive, heavy camera bricks, Xiaomi managed to pack a ridiculously powerful imaging system into a chassis that’s only 8.29mm thick. But the real story here isn't just the improved ergonomics; it's the brand-new 200MP variable telephoto lens that changes how we shoot portraits..

EN→PTWith the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi makes its ambition to rival the iPhone 17 Pro Max clear not only in name, but also in imaging performance. This strategy largely succeeds in Photo, where the device scores just one point below Apple’s flagship. The slight deficit is mainly due to zoom limitations, stemming from the ultra-wide camera’s constrained 17mm focal length, which reduces flexibility at shorter zoom ranges. That said, the Xiaomi’s primary camera slightly outperforms the iPhone’s, delivering consistently accurate exposure, pleasing color rendering, and an excellent texture/noise trade-off. Noise is particularly well controlled, often surpassing Apple’s performance in challenging scenes.

The battle for the ultimate Android flagship just got incredibly intense. We’ve got the heavy hitters—Honor Magic 8 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Oppo Find X9 Pro, and Vivo X300 Pro—all dropping at the same time. After using these four phones extensively for the last month, the results were honestly surprising. One device has completely raised the bar, while another popular choice felt like it was lagging behind on key hardware. If you’re thinking about upgrading and want to know which phone actually delivers the best daily experience without the marketing hype, this comparison covers everything from grip comfort to extreme gaming stress tests.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is Xiaomi’s boldest flagship yet, featuring a striking design with a functional rear OLED display, a gorgeous 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel, and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip for top-tier performance. Its massive 7,500mAh battery delivers class-leading endurance, easily outlasting most rivals. However, despite the Leica branding, the camera system still feels unrefined — with inconsistent color tuning, a weak ultrawide lens, and underwhelming video output. HyperOS 3.0 also continues to lag behind competitors in polish and consistency. Overall, the 17 Pro Max is innovative and powerful but still lacks the finesse needed to truly challenge Samsung, Apple, or even Vivo at the very top.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is a well-rounded flagship phone without many weak points, if at all. It has the latest and greatest chipset, a high-end display, an excellent build, a huge battery, snappy charging, amazing speakers and dependable camera hardware. The secondary display is a nice touch, as it makes the Pro Max stand out, but, most importantly, it makes the selfie-taking experience with the rear cameras so much more flexible. Despite being so well-rounded, however, it's hard to recommend the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max if you are looking for an amazing camera phone. The cameras here seem good to the average Joe, but there are objectively better alternatives with more capable hardware right now, and the telephoto camera is a miss. Sadly, the camera department is the only one that keeps the 17 Pro Max from getting an excellent score.

EN→PTXiaomi is feeling bold and confident with this year's Xiaomi 17 lineup, even if they are only launching the devices in China for now. We rarely see large smartphone makers experiment with features like secondary displays on the back. The last Xiaomi phone with a similar feature was the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, released in 2021. Xiaomi might be onto something this time around, as the rear screen is already confirmed to stay for at least another generation. The rear screen isn't the only highlight feature of the 17 Pro Max too. It is seemingly packed to the bream with some great hardware - a huge and bright LTPO OLED panel on the front, the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, a huge 7,500 mAh battery with fast charging and a capable camera setup.

The Xiaomi 17T stands out with sharper image processing, a more capable 5x telephoto camera, and vibrant colours that make photos look striking straight out of the camera. It also has the edge for video recording, delivering more stable footage and better quality when zooming in, making it a better option for users who frequently shoot videos or like sharing content on social media with minimal editing.

They also offer more versatile camera systems and sharper displays. Nevertheless, the Xiaomi smartphone manages to carve out a niche for itself with its reliable performance, well-optimised battery life, and flagship-grade Leica camera setup that, in some areas, even surpasses more expensive smartphones. The 17T features a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, enabling it to capture distant subjects with impressive detail and clarity. EN→PTOverall, I think a great premium midrange phone needs to have five strong pillars: design and build, display experience, performance and software, camera, and battery life. And honestly, the Xiaomi 17T scores either an A or A-minus in almost all of these areas. The design is comfortable, the display is excellent, performance is the best in its class, battery life is strong, and the Leica-tuned camera system and the 5x telephoto camera gives this phone a clear edge over the competition. So, under one lakh in Nepal, I think the Xiaomi 17T might just be the best value-for-money phone to buy right now.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T is an excellent upper mid-range phone with cameras that punch above their weight. Especially if you’re into making videos, I don’t think you’re likely to find a better-equipped phone in this price bracket. The rest of the phone is solid, too. Opting for the older Pro will give you a better main camera, wireless charging, an aluminium frame, and a faster processor. Plus, you still get that excellent 5x telephoto. The downside is that the battery is smaller and the phone is bigger – but that could be a worthy trade-off. The 15T Pro won’t stick around forever, though.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T arrives at a time when the gap between premium smartphones and true flagships is becoming increasingly difficult to define. At Rs 60,000, it doesn’t try to be the fastest phone in its segment. Instead, Xiaomi has built a device that focuses on delivering a well-rounded flagship-like experience with a particular emphasis on photography. The Leica-tuned camera system remains the biggest highlight. The primary camera consistently delivers detailed and visually pleasing images, while features such as Leica colour profiles, strong HDR processing and capable portrait modes help the phone stand apart from many rivals in this price range. The display is another strong point, offering excellent brightness, vibrant colours and support for every major HDR standard, making it equally enjoyable for content consumption and content creation. The Leica-tuned camera system is the highlight, and the dedicated 5x telephoto camera could be the biggest differentiator in a fiercely competitive segment that Xiaomi is stepping into. It is what sets it apart from most other similarly priced smartphones. The biggest surprise for me was the camera system. While there are areas where flagship phones can pull ahead, particularly in extreme zoom scenarios and moving subjects, the overall image quality is impressive for the price. Portrait shots are among the phone's strongest highlights, and the daylight camera performance is good enough to keep most photography enthusiasts satisfied. The rest of the package is equally solid. EN→PTThe overarching theme here is that the Xiaomi 17T shares a great deal of features with its Pro sibling. So many, in fact, that my recommendation is firmly to forgo the Pro and save some cash with the standard model. You still get brilliant battery life, a pixel-perfect display, and that fantastic 5x telephoto camera – plus the rest of the cameras are great, too. More to the point, the issues that plague the Xiaomi 17T are, for the most part, flaws of the Pro model, too: the software is fussy, but universal across Xiaomi phones; the 17T Pro uses the same fiberglass on the rear (albeit with an aluminium frame) and, as is the case across the smartphone spectrum this year, prices have increased. So of the two, the Xiaomi 17T is firmly my favourite. As for how it compares to the rest of the competition? Well, that 5x telephoto camera is doing a lot of heavy lifting, but it is a unique feature that the chief players in this price range can’t match. If you favour photography above all else, the Xiaomi 17T is well worth your consideration.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T provides more of a meaningful upgrade over its predecessor, with an improved camera array, stronger battery life and more stylish colour choices. Against key rivals, performance feels a little lacking, though, and I’m still not sold fully on HyperOS. The performance here is more in line with traditional mid-range handsets, such as the Nothing 4a Pro and the Google Pixel 10a, although it is somewhat above the Honor 600 in some respects. I think the other choices have a better skin of Android with less clutter, which makes a real difference. With this in mind, there’s a lot to like here that makes this the best T-suffixed non-Pro phone from Xiaomi yet – I’m just not sure it’s as much of a flagship killer as they may tout it to be. EN→PTI do wish Xiaomi had improved on the placement of the fingerprint sensor from the Xiaomi 15T Pro. It's still located too low at the bottom of the screen, which can be awkward to reach. And while the 17T has an Always-On Display, you can't actually leave it permanently on so it's not really always on, I guess. The 17 Pro can be configured to do so, but it doesn't appear to be an LTPO display that can drop down to 1Hz to conserve power, so Xiaomi doesn't enable it by default to save power.

The display is excellent, battery life is superb, and the camera setup is arguably among the best in this particular class, especially when it comes to zoom photography. The upgraded 5x telephoto camera alone gives the 17T a noticeable edge over many similarly-priced rivals and even makes it feel surprisingly close to its Pro sibling in actual day-to-day camera use. EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T Pro is one of those phones that surprised me with its polish. It isn’t the absolute best at everything, and yet, the experience is still great. It has a premium design, a beautiful screen, excellent battery life, fast charging, strong performance, and a camera system with actual personality. The biggest reason to buy it is the balance. The Xiaomi 17T Pro doesn’t feel like a stripped-down alternative to an Ultra phone.

Xiaomi's T-series continues to be a battleground for premium performance at a competitive price, but the gap between the standard and Pro models is wider than ever. Is the Pro model worth the extra cash, or does the more compact standard 17T offer the better overall value?

EN→PTI'm not going to talk about the software too much; the 17T Pro comes with Android 16 out of the box, and it is optimized to run fluidly on the phone. I didn't see any lag or slowdowns, but the software itself is in need of a visual overhaul, and it doesn't feel quite as modern to use as OriginOS and ColorOS. It wasn't all that long ago that you could get a Xiaomi T series phone for around $500. But the industry as a whole is trending upwards in this area, and it isn't just Xiaomi that's selling its value flagships at what would've been flagships prices three years ago (the Xiaomi 13 debuted at €999 in 2023). So, where does that leave the 17T Pro? You're not getting huge gains from the 15T Pro, so if you're able to get last year's phone at a discounted price, that would be my recommendation — it has 90% of the same features. But if you aren't able to get the 15T Pro at a decent deal and need a bigger battery, the 17T Pro is a viable alternative. I still think it's better to wait a little while before buying the phone — Xiaomi will inevitably lower prices over the coming weeks, like it does with all devices in its portfolio. If you'd rather not wait, POCO's F8 Ultra is a solid choice as well — it has a better design, amazing cameras, the latest internals, and a 6,500mAh battery — and it costs a much more reasonable €659 right now.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T is designed for users who want a premium experience without breaking the bank. Launched in late May 2026, this model packs a punch with its 6.59-inch AMOLED display, which is incredibly bright at up to 3,500 nits and features a smooth 120Hz refresh rate perfect for scrolling and gaming. Under the hood, you will find the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of speedy UFS 4.1 storage. Battery life is a major highlight here, thanks to a large 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 67W wired charging and even 22.5W reverse wired charging to top up your earbuds or a friend’s phone. It is also IP68 rated, meaning it can survive a dip in the pool or a dusty trail. The overall build uses a plastic frame and Gorilla Glass 7i, keeping the weight down to a comfortable 200 grams.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T Pro is excellent value in the context of 2026. Its unique camera system produces beautiful pictures that enthusiasts will appreciate, and it has the beautiful design, long battery life, and fast charging to go along with that. Samsung's Galaxy S26 Plus model is the closest alternative, coming at a similar price (after the discounts).

EN→PTYes. The €899 (approx. $1,046) Xiaomi 17T Pro and its slightly cheaper €749 (approx. $871) sibling may not sit at the very top of Xiaomi’s smartphone hierarchy, but after spending time with both devices in Austria, I came away impressed by what they offer photographers and everyday users alike, especially the 17T Pro. The Xiaomi 17T Pro succeeds in doing exactly what mobile photography should do: make it easier to capture and share moments without getting in the way.

EN→PTOverall, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is a great phone to own with everything that it can offer. It’s got a great set of cameras, a beautiful display, and a powerful chipset. There’s also a long lasting battery, which will last users more than an entire day of use. Then again there are some compromises. For starters, it’s not the most weather resistant smartphone out there with only an IP68 rating, and the ultrawide camera isn’t exactly the best, especially compared to the main and telephoto in low light.

EN→PTXiaomi once again managed to bring to life two very compelling upper-mid-range, almost flagship smartphones. In fact, the ‘Pro’ model can even be considered a high-end offering from the company. Both of them have really good performance, excellent displays, great battery life, and capable cameras. We’re glad to see that Xiaomi went with telemacro shooters here, and Leica lenses are always good to see. Yes, both of these phones are inferior to the Xiaomi 17 series, but the ‘Pro’ model in particular is not far behind. If they are within your budget, they’re definitely worth considering.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T Pro is a confident phone and will be a no-brainer for a lot of people. It nails some key elements — telephoto photography, big battery, properly flagship-feeling chassis. Build, performance, camera and display all hold their own at £799. And the fact that £799 now counts as “mid-range” is genuinely the story of the smartphone market in 2026. As is the overwhelming choice buyers have. Buy the 17T Pro if you want a flagship-feeling phone with a long-reach telephoto, the biggest battery in the category, and you’re not bothered about a 219g phone in your pocket. The big flagship head-to-head: Samsung S26 Ultra vs iPhone 17 Pro Max Buy the 17T if you want most of that story in a more compact body, you don’t need 8K video or wireless charging, and saving £150 matters to you.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T Pro is a great all-rounder. The cameras are excellent, it's powerful, it looks and feels premium, and it comes at a lower cost than most flagship devices. The only problem is that it's very similar to last year's 15T Pro. If you own the older model, there's not really any reason to upgrade, unless your battery keeps dying prematurely. And if you're a savvy shopper, opting for the older model, or the frequently discounted base model Xiaomi 17, might make more sense. That said, if you're looking for a phone in this price range, the Xiaomi 17T Pro still stands out as one of the best options. It has a more versatile camera system and better video features than its closest competitors, the Honor 600 Pro or Vivo X300 FE, and it rivals them in performance, too. So, while it might not be the most exciting update, the Xiaomi 17T Pro remains competitive in 2026. I had a great time using it, especially the 5x telephoto, which continues to surprise me with its excellent results.

EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T Pro feels like an excellent alley that fumbled the oop. The hardware, despite only improving on last year in a couple of places, is strong across almost the entire board. Performance rivals some of the best phones in the business and battery life is massively improved. Even the cameras, where I’d liked to have seen some upgrades, don’t actively do anything wrong. The proverbial fumble here is completely tied to the price. The forces that are putting pressure on phone prices the world over are far out of Xiaomi’s control, so perhaps it’s a little unfair to lay the blame for this at its feet, but we aren’t here to feel sorry for multi-million pound companies. We’re here to decide if you should buy the Xiaomi 17T Pro, and the answer to that is probably not, no. If you really fancy it, save some cash and get the standard Xiaomi 17T – it’s barely a downgrade but costs quite a bit less. If you’re brand agnostic, I’ll say what I always say when we’re judging phones in this price range right now: you won’t find better value for money than with the OnePlus 15.

EN→PTWhile the Xiaomi 17T series is a big step forward, it’s arguably the regular 17T that steals most of the limelight this year, finally matching its Pro sibling on the camera front. By comparison, the 17T Pro feels more iterative than exciting; the camera hardware is largely unchanged, there’s no dramatic leap in performance, and the display – while still excellent – isn’t doing much that’s genuinely new. That said, even with relatively minimal upgrades, the Xiaomi 17T Pro remains a seriously strong all-rounder for the price. You’re getting a solid, premium-feeling design, a big and beautiful 144Hz display, very capable Leica-tuned cameras and, crucially, one of the biggest and most durable batteries you’ll find on any mainstream flagship right now. If you can live with the familiar look and a few software annoyances, it’s still a fast, feature-packed powerhouse that most will enjoy. To see how it compares to the competition, take a look at the best mid-range phones.

Reviewing the Xiaomi 17T Pro, a step down from the 17 series flagships which usually launches in September - but hey, it's 2026, anything goes! I've been testing the Xiaomi 17T Pro for a week now as my full-time smartphone, from the Leica camera setup to the battery life. So here's my verdict, and for more phone reviews please do subscribe! The Xiaomi 17T Pro may boast that Leica branding, but the camera does struggle with living subjects at times, often producing softer photos. However, in other ways it truly is excellent, as you'll see from my test shots and home movies. You'd hope that the battery life would be dependably long too, with the 7000mAh cell stuffed inside. Here's how the Xiaomi 17T Pro coped with regular everyday use, as well as gaming and more intensive stuff. So, are you tempted by this smartphone? Personally I'd lean towards flagships like the OnePlus 15 and OPPO Find X9 series, while the Poco X8 Pro Max offers many of the same Xiaomi 17T Pro benefits at a nicer price.

Most of the hardware remains unchanged, but a faster processor, bigger battery, and faster charging all make for an even better experience.

EN→PTYes, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is a good smartphone buy, particularly if you want long battery life. The camera is ideal for social media, there’s plenty of performance for gaming, and it’s good to see wireless charging join fast wired charging. Xiaomi’s software can frustrate, the screen glass lets the display performance down, and there’s no denying this is a big, bulky phone.Does this all add up to a phone that was worth launching just eight months after the last one? It’s questionable. Xiaomi said it launched earlier than expected to show off Leica’s camera experience to more people, something that doesn’t really add up considering the 17T Pro’s camera is extremely similar to the 15T Pro’s. However, the Xiaomi 17T Pro’s long battery life does save it. It’s a genuine day-to-day game changer, and an answer to a lot of people’s problems with modern flagship phones. This is one of the best examples of the benefits a silicon-carbon battery and an efficient processor can bring to a phone.

EN→PTAs is the case with the Xiaomi T series for the past couple of generations, the initial pricing is what keeps us from giving an outright recommendation to buy the 17T Pro. But if you are here reading this a few months after the release, you might be looking at an excellent all-rounder with flagship-like features and hardware, but without the flagship-like pricing. The 17T Pro once again impresses with great all-round camera hardware, excellent display, high-performance chipset and speedy wired and wireless charging. This year, the handset also stands out in the battery life race with solid endurance. So if you are not in a hurry, wait for the dust to settle. EN→PTThe Xiaomi 17T Pro does not try to reinvent what made the T series appealing, and that is exactly why it works. Instead, it takes the core strengths of the 15T Pro, including the restrained design, strong camera system, and flagship-like everyday performance, and refines them in ways that feel practical rather than flashy. The result is a phone that feels more mature than dramatic, but also more complete. The 17T Pro feels like a phone that understands its own appeal and leans into it with confidence.
