Em termos de design, o novo chassi é um avanço em relação à última geração do ZenBook UX331. O UX333 se atreve a ser mais grosso para melhorar a rigidez, ao mesmo tempo em que elimina ainda mais os marcos para uma impressão compacta. O salto visual de geração a geração e o preço inicial razoável são talvez as maiores razões para possuir um ZenBook UX333, em vez do salto da Intel Core Kaby Lake-R de 8ª geração para a Whiskey Lake-U.

A maioria dos usuários no mercado por um Ultrabook de 13 polegadas provavelmente irá comparar este portátil com um Dell XPS 13 9370. A partir dessa perspectiva, o UX333 tem algumas vantagens e desvantagens a serem lembradas. Seu formato menor, portas USB tipo A e HDMI integradas, opção de GPU GeForce MX150 mais veloz e preço mais barato para a mesma CPU Core i5, tudo a favor da Asus. Por outro lado, o sistema Dell tem uma tela táctil opcional mais brilhante, ThunderBolt 3, carregador USB Tipo C mais versátil, leitor MicroSD mais rápido e trackpad maior. A escolha depende em grande parte da preferência do usuário.

O ZenBook UX333 faz o antigo UX331 parecer velho em comparação. Ele traz a série a par com as alternativas emblemáticas como o XPS 13 e o Spectre 13, ao mesmo tempo em que custa algumas centenas de dólares a menos no processo. A ausência do Thunderbolt 3, Carregador USB Type-C e tela táctil pode ser difícil de engolir para entusiastas e viajantes.
