Mencionamos em nossa análise do NP900X5N que seria imprudente comprar a configuração, já que há rumores de que tanto o Kaby Lake-R quanto o Pascal parecem estar ficando obsoletos. Agora que ambos estão finalmente disponíveis, os usuários pacientes agora podem desfrutar de um aumento estimado de 60 por cento de CPU e 115 por cento de GPU sobre o i7-7500U e GeForce 940MX no modelo mais antigo. Isso se torna ainda mais impressionante ao considerar que o modelo mais recente não funciona de forma mais barulhenta, mais quente ou mais breve, por causa de seu melhor desempenho por Watt. A bateria de maior capacidade, em particular, é uma surpresa, já que as durações no modelo do ano passado já estavam acima da média. 

A maior desvantagem é o forte afogamento da GPU durante os jogos. É estranho registrar resultados de benchmarks sintéticos normais apenas para descobrir o abominável desempenho dos jogos e taxas de fotogramas amplamente variáveis. Até que tenhamos notícias da Samsung sobre o problema ou uma atualização apropriada seja lançada, não podemos recomendar o SKU mais caro com o MX150.

Tudo o resto sobre o portátil permanece inalterado para melhor ou pior. O Notebook 9 ainda não é contestado para os usuários que desejam o Ultrabook mais leve e brilhante de 15 polegadas para uso leve em qualquer lugar. Do outro lado do espectro, a rigidez da carcaça marca um bom ponto e os usuários perderão as opções 2-em-1 e tela táctil que sistemas como a série Spectre  pode oferecer. Estamos ansiosos para ver uma atualização completa da série Notebook 9, pois pensamos que a Samsung pode torná-la ainda melhor, deixando de lado a porta de carregamento de CA proprietária para o carregamento USB Type-C universal, combinando o leitor de digitais com o botão de energia e integrando o eSIM para reforçar a portabilidade do sistema.

Seja muito cauteloso se você comprar o MX150 SKU devido ao afogamento da GPU quando estiver jogando. O SKU mais acessível com apenas gráficos integrados ainda é uma excelente compra para usuários que desejam algo maior que o XPS 13, mas mais leve, brilhante e mais compacto que o XPS 15.
