Intel i7-7Y75

O Intel Core i7-7Y75 é um SoC dual-core muito eficiente para tablets e portáteis resfriados passivamente, baseado na arquitetura Kaby Lake  e foi anunciado no final de agosto de 2016. A CPU consiste de dois núcleos de processador com velocidade de 1,3-3,6 GHz (2-core Turbo ainda não especificado). Graças ao Hyper Threading, o processador pode executar até quatro threads simultaneamente. O chip também inclui a GPU Intel HD Graphics 615, um controlador de memória dual-channel (DDR3L/LPDDR3), bem como codificador e decodificador de vídeos VP9 e H.265. Ele ainda é produzido em um processo de 14 nm com transistores FinFET. 

Arquitetura

A Intel basicamente utilizou a conhecida micro arquitetura da geração Skylake, portanto, o desempenho por-MHz é igual. Somente a tecnologia Speed-Shift para ajustes dinâmicos das voltagens e velocidades foi melhorada, e o processo de 14 nm maturado agora também permite frequências muito mais altas e melhor eficiência que antes. 

Desempenho

Apesar da designação alterada, o Core i7-7Y75 é o sucessor do Core m7-6Y75 (Série Y Skylake), portanto, o chip não atinge o nível de desempenho de outros processadores Core i devido ao TDP mais baixo. Graças a sua alta velocidade Turbo, o 7Y75 algumas vezes pode se manter no nível de modelos de 15 Watts para cargas breves e cenários single-thread, mas as velocidades cairão de forma significante sob cargas de trabalho contínuas. A CPU ainda é apta para muitos mais aplicativos exigentes, bem como as multitarefas. 

Gráficos

A GPU Intel HD Graphics 615 integrada tem 24 Unidades de Execução (EUs) como a antiga HD Graphics 515 e funciona com velocidades entre 300 e 1050 MHz em combinação com este processador. O desempenho depende muito do limite do TDP, bem como da configuração da memória; com veloz RAM LPDDR3-1866 em modo dual-channel, a GPU algumas vezes deve ser capaz de competir com a HD Graphics 520, mas também pode ser muito mais lenta en outros cenários. Jogos modernos de 2016 somente rodarão fluentemente com as configurações mais baixas.

Contrário à Skylake, a Kaby Lake agora também suporta decodificação por hardware para H.265/HEVC Main10 com uma profundidade de cores de 10-bits, bem como o codec VP9 da Google.

Consumo de Energia

O chip é produzido em um processo de 14 nm melhorado, com transistores FinFET, portanto, a eficiência da energia, mais uma vez, foi melhorada de forma significante. O típico TDP para a série Y é especificada em 4,5 Watts, e pode ser ajustado em ambas as direções, dependendo dos cenários de uso.
