NVIDIA GeForce GT 625M

A AMD Radeon HD 8550G é uma placa de vídeo de processador nos APUs AMD Richland (A8-5550M). Ela oferece apenas 256 núcleos shader VLIW4 (8650G: 384). A 8550G não tem memória gráfica dedicada, mas compartilha a memória principal com os núcleos da CPU.

O decodificador de vídeo integrado UVD3 permite a decodificação completa de Codec Multi-View (MVC), MPEG-4 Part 2 (DivX, XviD), MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 e vídeos HD Adobe Flash.

De acordo com as frequências de 515 - 720 MHz (Turbo), o desempenho deve estar apenas uma pequena percentagem acima do de uma Radeon HD 7640G. Assim, a Radeon HD 8550G se desempenha de maneira similar a uma Radeon HD 7570M dedicada. No entanto, sem a veloz memória de dois canais o desempenho cai drasticamente.

Os shaders do chip também podem ser utilizados para a computação geral.

A APU é produzida em 32nm e avaliada com um TDP de 35 watts. Isto permite que o chip seja utilizado em portáteis de 13 a 14 polegadas ou maiores.
