NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU

A Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU ou 3080 Ti Mobile (para portáteis, GN20-E8) é a placa gráfica mais rápida para notebooks no início de 2022. É baseada no chip GA103S Ampere e oferece 7.424 shaders e 16 GB de memória gráfica GDDR6 com um bus de memória de 256 Bit. Suporta PCIe 4.0 e estará disponível em diferentes variantes (80 - 175 Watt TGP actualmente conhecido). O relógio Boost máximo pode variar de 1125 (80 W) a 1590 MHz (150W ou mais).

Já não existe a variante Max-Q (anteriormente utilizada para as variantes de baixa potência) mas cada OEM pode optar por implementar as tecnologias Max-Q (Dynamic Boost, Whispermode).

O desempenho depende da configuração TGP e do arrefecimento do portátil. Graças à maior contagem do núcleo, o RTX 3080 Ti deve ser claramente mais rápido do que o antigo RTX 3080 Mobile e, portanto, bem adequado para jogos de 4K.

A ficha GA103S oferece 7.680 FP32 ALUs das quais metade pode também executar instruções INT32 (i.e. 3.840 INT32 ALUs). Com Turing todos os shaders ainda podem executar as instruções FP32 ou INT32. A GA103 integra 60 núcleos Raytracing e 240 núcleos Tensor (por exemplo, para DLSS). A cache L2 é de 4 MB. Os chips Ampere também incluem um codificador de vídeo melhorado de 5ª geração (NVENC para H.264 e H.265) e um descodificador de 7ª geração (para vários formatos, incluindo agora AV1). Em comparação com o GA103, o GA103S integra apenas um bus de memória de 256 Bit.

O chip GA103 é fabricado pela Samsung em 8nm (8N), que não consegue acompanhar o nó de 7nm no TSMC (por exemplo, utilizado pela AMD e também para o chip profissional GA100 Ampere).
